You can run prerecorded CBSE lessons as a YouTube live stream by scheduling a stream in YouTube Studio and sending it video from an encoder configured with YouTube’s server URL and stream key. Keeping that broadcast running around the clock is a separate operations problem: you need a playlist or rotation, a reliable playback-and-encoding setup, monitoring, and a tested recovery plan. YouTube’s setup guidance does not guarantee unattended looping or automatic recovery.

Plan the revision stream around the syllabus

Start with the CBSE Academic Unit’s 2026–27 curriculum portal to choose the class and subject. The portal lists secondary subjects including Class X Mathematics, Science, and Social Science. Check it again when the academic year or curriculum changes; a recording made for an earlier syllabus may need relabeling, updating, or removal.

Build an ordered schedule from original lessons: for example, a topic introduction, worked examples, a short recap, and a clear transition to the next lesson. Label class, subject, chapter or topic, and lesson order in the stream title or description and on screen. These labels are practical editorial guidance, not a separate CBSE requirement.

CBSE circular TRG-02/2026, dated 7 January 2026, describes an educational-video workflow that includes identifying the subject, topic, and subject-matter expert; script development and review; storyboarding; recording; graphics; editing; and programme review. The circular says repeated telecasts and YouTube availability can support self-paced learning. It reported 67 e-videos available on PM eVidya CBSE-15 at that time; that is a dated figure, not a current total.

Prepare recordings and clear the rights

Make the playlist useful for revision

Arrange lessons so a learner joining at any point can identify what is playing and what to study next. Use readable on-screen class and topic labels, concise transitions, and accurate descriptions. Check that examples and terminology remain aligned with the curriculum you intend to cover.

Check every audio and visual asset

Confirm that you have the rights to broadcast each recording and any music, images, slides, excerpts, or other third-party material it contains. YouTube’s livestream terms place responsibility for necessary rights on the creator, including music rights. A live stream is scanned for third-party matches; YouTube may replace it with a placeholder and warn you, and continued use can result in temporary interruption or termination. Even if you have a licence, a rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist.

Check channel eligibility and schedule the YouTube event

  1. Confirm eligibility. YouTube’s current Help guidance says the channel must be verified, have no live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days, and the person streaming must be at least 16. Review the current YouTube live-streaming eligibility and setup guidance before launch, since platform requirements can change.
  2. Open Live Control Room. In YouTube Studio, go to Live Control Room, choose Manage, then schedule a stream. Scheduling can create an upcoming watch page and let viewers set reminders.
  3. Set clear event details. Use a title and description that identify the CBSE class, subject, syllabus year, and revision topics. Avoid suggesting the stream covers an official CBSE syllabus unless the content really does.
  4. Keep the stream key private. YouTube provides a Live server URL and stream key for the encoder. Treat the key like a password: anyone who has it may be able to send content to the stream. Do not publish it or include it in public screenshots.

Send the prerecorded video as a live feed

A video file does not become a live broadcast simply because it is uploaded. An encoder must play the recording or playlist and send a live feed to YouTube using the Live server URL and stream key. YouTube’s documented flow is to configure the encoder, send a preview, inspect it in Live Control Room, and then start the feed.

  1. Choose an encoder. Software encoding is an option; YouTube also recommends professional-grade hardware encoders for events that need higher production value. Dedicated hardware is not a requirement. The official guidance does not establish a particular software product or a tested configuration for unattended looping and restart automation, so assess those capabilities for your chosen setup rather than assuming they are built in.
  2. Configure the encoder’s YouTube destination. Enter the server URL and stream key shown for the scheduled event. Follow the encoder’s own instructions for choosing and looping files; YouTube’s setup instructions do not define those product-specific controls.
  3. Send a preview first. Start the encoder feed without starting the public event, then inspect the preview in Live Control Room. Confirm the picture, sound, lesson labels, and that the correct event is receiving the feed.
  4. Start the scheduled stream. When the preview is correct, start the live event from the encoder or Live Control Room as required by your setup. Confirm the public watch page opens and that playback works from another device.

Design for continuous operation, not just a successful start

A 24/7 stream has failure modes beyond the first connection: playback can reach the end of a file, an encoder or host can stop, and a power or network fault can interrupt delivery. The YouTube workflow explains how to send and monitor a stream; it does not promise that a particular playlist will loop indefinitely or that a failed stream will restart itself.

  • Test the loop. Run the intended playlist through its end and verify that it returns to the right starting point without an unintended pause, blank screen, or abrupt audio change.
  • Test recovery. Deliberately test how your chosen playback and encoding arrangement behaves after a stopped process or lost connection. Document the steps needed to resume the feed and verify whether the scheduled event can be resumed as intended.
  • Assign monitoring. Decide who receives alerts and who can respond at all hours. Check audio and video during operation instead of treating a successful launch as proof that the stream remains healthy.
  • Check local recordings if you rely on them. YouTube recommends checking that local archive files are growing. A local copy can help preserve a recording, but it does not itself restore the live feed.
  • Check access from viewer devices. Use the channel or watch page and test on mobile as well as the encoder preview. Confirm that the stream is visible to the intended audience.
  • Prepare a failover plan. YouTube recommends testing encoder failover. Decide in advance what alternate encoder or recovery procedure you will use; do not assume a second encoder will work until you have tested it.

Plan stream duration and archives carefully

YouTube’s encoder guidance says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. It does not establish that one uninterrupted 24-hour broadcast will produce an ordinary archive in the same way. If viewers need recordings on demand, consider shorter scheduled sessions or make independent recordings, and confirm current behavior in YouTube Studio before relying on a long continuous stream for its archive.

Understand monetization and policy limits

Repeating recorded lessons does not guarantee monetization. YouTube applies its monetization policies to live streams; its inauthentic-content policy covers repetitive or mass-produced content, while reused content is assessed separately. Make the channel’s original teaching, educational value, and editorial work clear, and do not promise YouTube Partner Program approval or earnings. Ads and some fan-funding features may be available to eligible live streams, but eligibility and revenue depend on current rules and the channel’s status.

Upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It loops the uploaded videos from the cloud; it does not stream from a camera.

Troubleshoot common problems

Symptom Likely cause What to check
The scheduled event receives no video The encoder is not sending to the event’s server URL and stream key, or the feed has not started. Check the destination settings and key in the encoder, confirm it is running, and look for a preview in Live Control Room before starting the event.
The preview is wrong or blank The encoder may be playing the wrong file or playlist, or the selected source may not be producing video. Check the selected source and playback position in the encoder, then send a fresh preview and inspect it in Live Control Room.
Audio is missing or unexpectedly interrupted The file, encoder source, or included audio asset may be at fault; third-party matching can also affect a live stream. Check audio locally and in the preview. Review the stream’s YouTube notice and resolve rights or Content ID allowlisting issues with the relevant rights holder.
The stream stops when a recording ends The selected playback arrangement may not be configured to loop or advance through a playlist. Test the complete rotation and its end behavior before launch; configure the chosen encoder or service’s playback controls according to its own documentation.
The broadcast stops and does not return The encoder, playback host, network, or power may have failed, and automatic recovery may not be configured. Check the host and connection, follow the documented restart procedure, and test failover and alerts in advance.
A long stream does not appear as the expected archive The stream may have exceeded the duration for which YouTube says it automatically archives streams. Check YouTube Studio and current archive guidance. For dependable VOD access, keep independent recordings or consider shorter scheduled sessions.

Useful checks before going live

  • Confirm the stream matches the current CBSE syllabus and the metadata names the class, subject, and topics.
  • Clear rights for the recordings and every included third-party asset.
  • Verify channel eligibility and keep the stream key private.
  • Preview the encoder feed, test the full playlist rotation, and test a restart or failover.
  • Assign monitoring and recovery responsibility, and decide how viewers will access recordings if the stream exceeds 12 hours.
