If a Livepush stream keeps disconnecting from YouTube, first identify whether YouTube was added as a linked account or with a manual RTMP stream key. Then compare Livepush’s incoming-stream and destination status with the timestamped health messages in YouTube Live Control Room. Those checks help locate the failure; the symptom alone does not establish whether it is authorization, the encoder-to-Livepush connection, YouTube ingest, or viewer playback.
First identify which YouTube setup you use
Livepush supports a linked, one-click YouTube destination and a manual setup using a YouTube event and RTMP stream key. The recovery steps differ, so establish which route is configured before changing settings.
| Setup | What to check | Configuration detail |
|---|---|---|
| Linked YouTube account | Whether the account connection is still active | Livepush says a disconnected social account is a usual reason the one-click connection stops working; reconnect and save the destination again. Livepush destination guide |
| Manual RTMP stream key | Whether YouTube reports an encoder startup or stream-key error | Livepush’s manual connection guide configures this route for each event. YouTube’s documented recovery for a third-party encoder that cannot start is to get a new stream key in Live Control Room and update the encoder. Follow the failure from the source to viewers
Check the same time period in both services rather than relying only on what a viewer reports. Livepush describes monitoring incoming bitrate, frame rate, connection stability, and destination publish status. YouTube Live Control Room provides timestamped stream-health errors. Livepush monitoring · YouTube stream health errors
- Check the source entering Livepush. Look for an incoming connection that drops, unstable bitrate, or dropped or late frames. If this side is unstable, investigate the encoder, its device, and its network before blaming YouTube publishing. Livepush describes these metrics as monitoring indicators, not proof of the cause in a particular session.
- Check Livepush’s YouTube destination status. If the incoming stream appears healthy but publishing to YouTube fails, use the destination’s status and the setup method to choose the account-reconnection or stream-key recovery path.
- Read YouTube’s timestamped health message. Match its time to the Livepush status. An encoder startup or key error points to a different step than a healthy ingest accompanied only by viewer complaints.
- Ask whether the problem is shared. Determine whether one viewer, several viewers on one network, or viewers on different networks are affected. YouTube’s troubleshooting guidance considers viewer-side, shared-network, and encoder causes; a single viewer’s report does not by itself show that the stream disconnected at its source.
Recover the destination connection
If YouTube is linked in Livepush
- Open Livepush’s destination settings and inspect the linked YouTube account.
- If the connection is disconnected, reconnect the YouTube account.
- Save the YouTube destination again, then check whether Livepush reports that publishing has resumed.
This is Livepush’s stated recovery for a one-click social destination whose connection has stopped working. Livepush destination guide

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
If you entered a YouTube stream key manually
- Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room and inspect the health or startup error for the affected event.
- If YouTube identifies a third-party encoder startup or key problem, obtain a new stream key in Live Control Room.
- Update the key in the encoder or Livepush event configuration, then test the event again.
- Because Livepush’s manual route is configured per event, confirm that the updated configuration applies to the event that is failing.
Use YouTube’s instructions for the current Live Control Room flow, and do not expose a stream key: anyone with access to it may be able to send a stream to your channel. YouTube stream troubleshooting · Livepush manual connection guide
Check encoder settings and internet capacity
Settings advice depends on where the stream is being sent. Livepush’s incoming-stream guide concerns the encoder-to-Livepush leg; YouTube publishes separate ingest recommendations. Do not combine the two services’ bitrate ranges or assume that a setting alone explains a disconnect.

- Keyframes: YouTube recommends a two-second keyframe interval and says not to exceed four seconds. Livepush’s incoming-stream guide also recommends H.264, AAC-LC or Opus, CBR, and a two-second keyframe interval, with four seconds as the maximum for streams sent to Livepush. - Resolution and bitrate: First establish your actual codec, resolution, and frame rate, then use the applicable service’s recommendation. YouTube’s bitrate guidance varies by codec, resolution, and frame rate; the two YouTube rows above are not universal targets.
- Upload capacity: YouTube recommends testing your connection and choosing a quality your internet connection can reliably sustain. A speed test can help identify whether available upload capacity is a constraint, but it does not by itself identify every cause of instability.
- Network connection: If the encoder device is on Wi-Fi, testing over Ethernet is a reasonable way to investigate connection instability. It is optional, not a universal fix; it will not repair an expired account authorization, an incorrect key, or a YouTube-side issue.
YouTube’s guidance is to “Make sure to test before you start your live stream.” YouTube encoder settings
If the encoder looks healthy, test the outbound path
When the encoder-to-Livepush feed looks stable but YouTube publishing still fails, use YouTube’s troubleshooting checks before concluding that a streaming service is at fault:

- Update the encoder software and verify its local stream quality.
- Check CPU load while the stream is running; a heavily loaded device can affect encoding.
- Review a local recording to see whether the source itself has interruptions or quality problems.
- Test outbound internet connectivity. If that test reveals a connection problem, YouTube advises contacting your internet service provider.

Common symptoms and the next useful check
| What you observe | Next check |
|---|---|
| Livepush says the linked YouTube destination is disconnected | Reconnect the account and save the destination again. |
| YouTube reports that a third-party encoder cannot start | Follow YouTube’s stream-key recovery: generate a new key in Live Control Room and update the encoder or event. |
| Livepush’s incoming metrics fluctuate or show dropped or late frames | Investigate the encoder and its network; compare its settings and available upload capacity with the relevant destination’s guidance. |
| Incoming metrics look healthy, but YouTube publishing fails | Compare Livepush’s destination publish status with YouTube’s timestamped health error and check authorization or key configuration. |
| The stream appears healthy, but viewers report interruptions | Find out whether reports come from one viewer or multiple viewers on different networks, then use YouTube’s guidance to distinguish viewer-side, shared-network, and encoder possibilities. |
No single symptom proves the cause. For a useful escalation, record whether the destination is linked or manual, the exact Livepush destination and incoming status, YouTube’s health message and timestamp, relevant encoder logs, and whether other destinations or viewers are affected.
