Yes—Kindle offers are already appearing ahead of Amazon’s October 6–7, 2026 Prime Big Deal Days, but the confirmed early offer is a Kindle Colorsoft Essentials Bundle, not a blanket discount on every Kindle. Which deals you see depends on the country, model and generation; check the live listing for the exact price and bundle contents.
When is October Prime Day 2026?
Amazon calls its October sale Prime Big Deal Days. The event runs October 6–7, 2026. For the US, Amazon says event deals begin October 6 at 12:01 a.m. PDT. Amazon lists 22 participating countries and cautions that dates may vary by country. The 48-hour event spans more than 35 categories, according to Amazon’s event announcement.
Amazon says Prime membership is required for event deals. Its US early-deals article lists membership at $14.99 per month or $139 per year and says eligible shoppers may be able to start a free trial; check the current membership terms before signing up. Amazon’s event announcement and early-deals article have the event details.

Kindle Colorsoft Essentials Bundle
Amazon’s early-offer announcement names the Kindle Colorsoft Essentials Bundle among selected device bundles eligible for “up to 45% off select devices and bundles.” That is the maximum across selected offers, not a stated 45% discount on the Kindle bundle. The announcement does not establish a matching discount for a standalone Kindle Colorsoft or other Colorsoft configurations. Check the Amazon early-deals listing for the current price and what the bundle includes.

Previous-generation Kindles
In an October 2, 2026 update, TechRadar reported that some previous-generation Kindles were discounted in the UK, while newly added UK models were listed at full price. Tom’s Guide also reported that previous-generation Kindles were on sale ahead of the event. These reports describe offers seen before the sale, not a guarantee of the same prices during October 6–7.
Will every Kindle, including the Paperwhite, be discounted?
There is no confirmed across-the-board discount. Amazon’s early-offer page names a bundle but does not provide a model-by-model price cut for standalone Kindles. The cited reports do not establish a specific discount for every Paperwhite or other model. A deal on one bundle or an older model is not evidence that all Kindle versions are on sale.

Discounts on newly launched 2026 models were still uncertain in TechRadar’s October 2 update. Treat both early listings and predictions as snapshots: Amazon may add or change offers before or during the event.

| What to compare | What is known | What it means for shoppers |
|---|---|---|
| Country or storefront | Amazon includes the US and UK among participating markets and says dates may vary by country. TechRadar’s October 2 snapshot found UK discounts on some older Kindles but no US Kindle discounts visible at that time. | Check the Amazon store for your country; another market’s price or availability may not apply to you. |
| Generation | TechRadar reported discounts on some prior-generation UK models, while new UK models were listed at full price. Tom’s Guide also reported prior-generation deals. | Confirm the exact model and generation rather than assuming a newer Kindle shares an older model’s offer. |
| Device or bundle | Amazon specifically names the Kindle Colorsoft Essentials Bundle, but does not state that its offer applies to a standalone device. | Check the offer’s title and contents to see whether you are buying a Kindle alone or a bundle. |
| Early offer or event-day deal | Amazon has advertised an early bundle offer. The sources do not guarantee which models will be discounted on October 6–7. | Recheck the live listing during the event; an early price is not a promise of an event-day price. |
How to check a Kindle deal before buying
- Open the Amazon storefront for your country and find the exact Kindle model you want.
- Confirm the generation and whether the listing is for the device alone or an Essentials bundle.
- Review the current price and offer details on the product page; do not infer a Kindle-specific percentage from Amazon’s “up to 45%” maximum for selected devices and bundles.
- Check the listing again near purchase time, since price, stock and event offers can change.
For a US shopper, TechRadar had not found Kindle discounts as of October 2; that status could change before or during Prime Big Deal Days. For UK shoppers, its report found some prior-generation discounts already available, but not on every model.
