It suits crafters willing to experiment with mats and settings; buyers who want a seamless design workflow should weigh that software trade-off carefully.
What the LOKLiK iCraft can do
The iCraft is a desktop hobby cutter for projects such as vinyl decals, stickers, cards, paper crafts, felt designs, veneer work and leather cutting with an appropriate blade. It connects by USB or Bluetooth and is controlled with LOKLiK IdeaStudio.
| Specification | LOKLiK iCraft |
|---|---|
| Flat working area | 12 × 12 inches (Make, 2025: review) |
| Maximum roll length | Up to 21 feet, according to the manufacturer (LOKLiK: product page) |
| Maximum tool pressure | 5,200 gf (Make, 2025) |
| Connection and software | USB or Bluetooth; LOKLiK IdeaStudio |
| Optional tools | Deep-cut, foil-transfer, scoring and roll-cutting tools (LOKLiK product page) |
LOKLiK says the machine supports more than 100 materials, offers print-then-cut precision down to 0.5 mm, and can cut matless rolls up to 21 feet long. The manufacturer also lists more than 18,000 ready-made images in IdeaStudio. These are manufacturer specifications and library claims, rather than independent measures of performance or design quality.
Independent reviewers describe the machine as compact, quiet and accurate on suitable materials. Make reviewer Sam Freeman reported crisp, quick vinyl cuts, clean cuts in heavy paper and a fridge magnet, and successful veneer cutting without laser scorch marks. Creative Bloq also found it useful for card art and heat-transfer vinyl.

Cutting performance is the iCraft’s strongest case
For common craft materials, reviews point to capable hardware rather than a machine that needs constant tuning to produce a good cut. Make found the default settings effective after an initial learning period, while TechRadar’s May 2025 review reported exceptionally good results when the material was suitable.
The 5,200 gf maximum pressure and optional tools broaden the kinds of work the machine can attempt, but neither specification guarantees that every material will cut successfully. Results depend on the material, blade or tool, mat, and settings. Treat LOKLiK’s “more than 100 materials” claim as a compatibility claim, not a promise of equally reliable results across every craft stock.

The supplied mat may be too sticky
The recurring hardware caveat is the grip mat. TechRadar’s May 2025 review found it excessively sticky for many papers, felts and thinner vinyls; Make likewise described the supplied mat’s grip as very aggressive. Delicate stock can be difficult to remove cleanly when the mat holds it too firmly.
This matters most if your projects rely on lightweight or fragile materials. Be prepared to test how the mat handles each stock and to consider a replacement cutting mat if the supplied one does not suit your materials. Also account for blades, craft consumables and any replacement mats when comparing the machine’s total ownership cost. Deep-cut blades, foil-transfer tips and weeding tools may be useful additions for particular projects, but are separate needs from the machine’s basic cutting capability.
IdeaStudio works for basic jobs, but feels uneven
IdeaStudio handles straightforward layouts and machine control, yet reviewers found its editing experience less mature than the cutter itself. Make reported awkward editing tools and imported files arriving consistently 133% larger than intended. TechRadar described the design library as disappointing and reported glitchy AI features on macOS; Make also found AI output unreliable in some workflows. Creative Bloq’s January 2025 review characterized the software as basic.

- Expanded Cutting Width: Cutting width increased to a maximum of 8.5in, The US Letter material is easy to handle Whether it's large stickers or cardstock, Likcut S41 vinyl cutting machine is designed to complete the cut in a single process. No more tedious manual partitioning or splicing small elements together

With One-Touch Mastery, essential functions (like Start/Stop and Load/Unload) are right on the machine for immediate use. You get instant feedback with clear guidance every step of the way
Those limitations are more consequential if you expect to create and refine complex designs inside the app. A simple cut file or uncomplicated layout is a more natural fit. If you regularly import artwork, check its dimensions in the software before cutting a full project, and make a small test cut when scale matters.
Setup, calibration and troubleshooting
TechRadar found USB and Bluetooth setup straightforward. If cut or print-then-cut results are off, LOKLiK’s official support guidance recommends updating firmware, calibrating print-then-cut and cutting force, and resetting calibration values when needed (LOKLiK support).

- Connect the cutter by USB or Bluetooth and open IdeaStudio.
- Check for a firmware update using the manufacturer’s support instructions.
- Run print-then-cut calibration if printed designs are not being cut in the right position.
- Run cutting-force calibration if the blade is not cutting through the intended material cleanly.
- Reset calibration values when needed, then test again on a small piece of the same material.
These steps address calibration-related problems; they do not resolve every issue caused by a difficult material, an unsuitable blade or the supplied mat’s aggressive grip.
Who should buy the LOKLiK iCraft?
At the $229.99 price reported by Make in 2025, the iCraft is best considered by home crafters or small craft businesses that prioritize quiet operation, accurate cutting and material flexibility over a perfectly polished app. That figure is Make’s reported price at the time of its review, not a current price guarantee.
