Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →If you want a motor-control evaluation kit that pairs a controller with a separate gate-driver board, the Analog Devices TMC6100-EVAL-KIT is the clearest match: it combines a TMC4671 motion-controller board with a TMC6100 driver board and supporting base and bridge boards. If you prefer the controller and gate driver in one IC, consider the TMC9660-3PH-EVKIT instead. For a GaN-based option, STMicroelectronics lists a three-phase evaluation board using its STDRIVEG611 GaN driver, but its catalog does not establish that it is sold as an equivalent paired kit.
Choose between a modular kit and an integrated motor-control IC
The key distinction is where the controller and gate driver live. The TMC6100-EVAL-KIT uses separate TMC4671 controller and TMC6100 gate-driver boards. That makes it the direct fit when you specifically want to evaluate a controller-plus-driver arrangement. The TMC9660-3PH-EVKIT uses the TMC9660, which combines motor-control and gate-driver functions in a monolithic IC.
| Kit | Architecture | Documented electrical envelope | Control and interfaces |
|---|---|---|---|
| Analog Devices TMC6100-EVAL-KIT | Separate TMC4671 motion-controller board and TMC6100 driver board, with one Landungsbruecke MCU/base board and two Eselsbruecke bridge boards. Source: ADI TMC6100-EVAL product documentation. | 12–48 V supply, 55 V maximum; intended for up to 10 A coil current. Source: ADI TMC6100-EVAL product documentation. | Encoder and Hall support are specified for the kit. The cited product description does not state a complete list of control loops or communications interfaces. |
| Analog Devices TMC9660-3PH-EVKIT | Integrated TMC9660 monolithic motor controller and gate-driver IC; includes Landungsbruecke, Eselsbruecke and TMC9660-3PH-EVAL boards. Source: ADI TMC9660-3PH-EVKIT product documentation. | 8–70 V input; up to 10 A RMS coil current and 20 A peak. Source: ADI TMC9660-3PH-EVKIT product documentation. | Hardware FOC; position, velocity and torque control; SPI and UART interfaces. Source: ADI TMC9660-3PH-EVKIT product documentation. |
These current figures are not directly interchangeable: the TMC9660 documentation explicitly distinguishes 10 A RMS from 20 A peak, while the TMC6100 kit page describes up to 10 A coil current without the same RMS/peak breakdown. For the TMC6100 IC itself, ADI lists an 8–60 V operating capability and programmable gate-drive current of 0.5 A, 1 A or 1.5 A. Those IC ratings are not the same as the TMC6100 evaluation system’s specified 12–48 V supply range and 55 V maximum.
Match the kit to your motor’s voltage and current
Check the kit’s system input range and motor-current specification against the motor and power supply you intend to use. Do not treat a gate-driver’s output-current rating as the motor’s phase or coil current: they describe different parts of the system.

The TI reference design and DRV8307EVM differ in form: the former is a documented reference-design solution with software and design files, while the latter is an evaluation module centered on a pre-driver. Nexperia emphasizes modular component choices. Choose among them based on whether you need a paired controller/driver evaluation kit, a reference design, a pre-driver module or a platform for changing power-stage components.

Is there a GaN motor-driver evaluation board?
Yes. STMicroelectronics’ motor-control catalog lists a three-phase motor-control evaluation board based on the STDRIVEG611 GaN driver and STM32G431RB. The catalog also lists EVSTGAP2GSN and EVSTGAP2GS demonstration boards relevant to motor control and GaN drivers.
The catalog listing establishes that relevant GaN evaluation hardware exists, but it does not establish that the STDRIVEG611 board is sold in the same controller-plus-paired-driver configuration as the TMC6100-EVAL-KIT. Confirm the board’s present availability, included hardware and compatibility with your motor directly with ST or an authorized distributor.

What to verify before ordering or powering a kit
- System voltage: distinguish the board or kit’s supply range and maximum from the operating-voltage specification of an individual IC.
- Motor-current definition: check whether a stated value is RMS, peak, coil current or a general power-capability figure; do not compare unlike ratings as if they were equivalent.
- Control requirements: confirm the feedback sensors, communications interfaces and control loops you need. The TMC9660 kit documentation specifically lists hardware FOC, position/velocity/torque control, SPI and UART; the TMC6100 kit documentation specifies encoder and Hall support.
- Included hardware: verify the board set and any required power stage, motor, cables or software in the current product listing. The named kits include different combinations of base, bridge, controller and driver boards.
- GaN configuration: if GaN is a requirement, check the precise driver, controller and board configuration rather than assuming a catalog entry implies a complete paired kit.
