Neither Peacock nor Netflix is a proven all-around winner for action movies. Both list action films in their current U.S. catalogs, but availability changes and the services’ official pages do not establish which has more titles or better films. Check for the movies you actually want, then compare the plans that include them: Peacock Select excludes movies, while Netflix’s displayed U.S. plans range from ad-supported 1080p to 4K + HDR.
Which service has the better action-movie selection?
It depends on the titles you want. Peacock’s U.S. Action & Adventure page lists films including Daylight’s End, Dreamscape, Jiang Zi Ya, The Fast and the Fierce, The Rundown, and The Scorpion King. Netflix’s U.S. page lists a mix that includes Black Adam, Furious 7, The Gray Man, The Mother, The Fast and the Furious, Fast Five, and Den of Thieves 2: Pantera. These are snapshots of changing catalogs, not complete inventories. See Peacock’s Action & Adventure listings and Netflix’s U.S. Action & Adventure listings.

The official pages reviewed do not provide a permanent head-to-head count or quality ranking, so there is no evidence-based basis for saying one service always has more or better action movies. Search both catalogs for specific must-watch films before subscribing or switching.
Which plans include movies, and what do they cost?
The prices below are those shown on the official U.S. plan pages when checked on October 3, 2026. They can change, and availability and pricing may differ outside the United States.
#1 Best Overall
- Shrink-wrapped
| Service and plan | Displayed U.S. price | Movie-relevant details |
|---|---|---|
| Peacock Select | $8.99/month or $89.99/year | Excludes movies and Peacock Originals; not a movie tier. |
| Peacock Premium | $12.99/month or $129.99/year | Includes movies and ads. |
| Peacock Premium Plus | $19.99/month or $199.99/year | No ads, subject to limited exceptions; downloads subject to availability. |
| Netflix Standard with ads | $8.99/month | Ad-supported; 1080p. |
| Netflix Standard | $19.99/month | No ads; 1080p. |
| Netflix Premium | $26.99/month | No ads; 4K + HDR and immersive sound. |
Peacock describes its annual plans as 12 months for the price of 10; choosing one means paying annually rather than month to month. For the full plan details, check Peacock’s U.S. plans and Netflix’s U.S. plans.
How should you compare ads and picture quality?
Ads
Netflix identifies Standard with ads as ad-supported and Standard and Premium as no-ad plans. Peacock Premium includes ads; Premium Plus is described as having no ads with limited exceptions. Peacock says Premium subscribers typically see 145 seconds of commercials before a movie begins. That is Peacock’s stated typical pre-movie figure, not a comparison of total ad time between the services or a guarantee for every viewing situation. See Peacock’s current-movies page.
Rank #2
Resolution and sound
Netflix lists 1080p for Standard with ads and Standard, and 4K + HDR with immersive sound for Premium. The Peacock movie information reviewed does not provide an equivalent format-by-format comparison, so the available evidence does not establish that the services match on picture or sound quality. Actual playback can also depend on the title, device, and connection; check the details for the film and setup you plan to use.
How to choose for your situation
- List your must-watch films. Search each service’s live catalog for the exact titles; a genre page is not a promise that a film will remain available.
- Compare only plans that include what you want. For Peacock movies, start with Premium or Premium Plus, not Select. On Netflix, choose whether ad support, 1080p, or Premium’s listed 4K + HDR and immersive sound matter to you.
- Weigh the actual trade-off. Consider monthly cost, annual commitment if relevant, tolerance for ads, and the picture and sound features you will use.
- Recheck before paying. The listings and displayed plan terms are U.S.-specific snapshots accessed October 3, 2026; titles, prices, and features can change, and other regions may differ.
Netflix may be the better fit if your wanted films are there or its listed Premium features matter to you. Peacock may suit you if its current catalog has the films you want and Premium’s price and features work better for you. Those are conditional choices based on the listings and plan descriptions—not the result of a controlled service comparison.
