Which accessibility details to report
Google’s wheelchair accessibility attributes cover five features. Report each relevant feature based on what you observed; an accessible entrance, for example, does not establish that the restroom or seating is accessible.
-
Entrance: Google describes an accessible entrance as approximately one meter wide and step-free. If there are steps, there should be a permanent or moveable ramp. Under Google’s guidance, an entrance with only a revolving door should be marked not accessible.
-
Restroom: The restroom entrance should be at least one meter wide and reachable without steps. If the person needs to enter a stall, its entrance should also be at least one meter wide.
-
Seating: Check that the main area is reachable without stairs and that there is enough room to navigate to and sit at a table. Google says a business is not wheelchair friendly for this attribute if every table is at standing height.

Parking: Report whether there is a parking space specifically marked for people with accessibility needs. Marking conventions differ by country and region.
-
Elevator: For a multi-floor place, check whether an elevator is available and large enough to accommodate a wheelchair.
Add visit-specific context in a review
If the structured attributes do not capture what you want to explain, you can add information to a review. Open the place in Google Maps, go to Reviews → Rate and review, and add relevant details under Wheelchair accessibility. Use the review text to describe useful visit-specific context, such as what you encountered or which part of the venue you checked.
What happens after you submit
An accessibility edit is a suggestion, not an immediate change. Google reviews suggested edits, and a change may take time to appear. Google says it will update contributors about the suggestion’s status. Accessibility attributes and attribute edits are available only in certain countries or regions; Google’s cited help pages do not provide a complete current list of eligible locations.
Google says a photo may help verify a suggestion. Its help page notes: “To help us verify your suggestion, add a photo. Your photos are publicly available under your name.” Add a photo only if you are comfortable with that visibility.
