NVIDIA has not announced an RTX 50 Super GPU or a launch date. Reports now place the rumored refresh somewhere between late 2026 and CES 2027, but neither window is confirmed. If you need a graphics card now, the RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 Ti are among the existing models in NVIDIA’s official RTX 50 lineup; waiting means accepting uncertainty about whether Super cards will arrive, and when.
What NVIDIA has confirmed about the RTX 50 Super refresh
NVIDIA’s official GeForce RTX 50-series catalog lists the RTX 5090, RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti, RTX 5070, RTX 5060 Ti, RTX 5060 and RTX 5050. It lists no RTX 50 Super model and gives no Super launch date. NVIDIA introduced the Blackwell-based RTX 50 family in January 2025, describing DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation and Reflex 2 as RTX 50-series capabilities.
The scale of the current generation is clear from NVIDIA’s January 6, 2025 newsroom announcement: “The GeForce RTX 5090 GPU — the fastest GeForce RTX GPU to date — features 92 billion transistors, providing over 3,352 trillion AI operations per second (TOPS) of computing power.” That statement concerns the RTX 5090, not a Super model.
When might the RTX 50 Super GPUs launch?
There is no confirmed date. The rumor timeline has shifted, and the reports do not establish that a launch will happen.

| Timing claim | What the report says | How to read it |
|---|---|---|
| Late 2026 | A Tom’s Hardware report on a leaker’s expectations said the refresh was still expected in 2026; it did not give a firm date. | An unconfirmed expectation, not a scheduled launch. |
| CES 2027 | A separate VideoCardz report said rumors had moved the refresh to CES 2027. | A later rumor window, not an NVIDIA announcement. |
Based on those reports, the refresh may arrive later than earlier expectations, but no public information from NVIDIA settles whether it will launch or when. A rumor pointing to CES 2027 should not be treated as a confirmed event plan.
Why do reports say the launch could be delayed?
VideoCardz reported on July 17, 2026 that the rumored RTX 5080 Super, RTX 5070 Ti Super and RTX 5070 Super were on hold over the pricing of 3GB GDDR7 memory. The report said NVIDIA had not provided board partners with a replacement release date. This is reported partner or leak information, not confirmation from NVIDIA, and it does not establish that NVIDIA formally delayed or canceled the cards.

Tom’s Hardware also reported that Seasonic’s power-supply calculator briefly showed entries for unannounced Super cards and associated power figures. Such entries can indicate that a vendor is planning around possible products; they do not confirm NVIDIA’s plans or guarantee a release.

| Rumored model | Unconfirmed detail | Status |
|---|---|---|
| RTX 5080 Super | Often rumored to have 24GB GDDR7 and higher board power. | Unconfirmed leak claim; no NVIDIA specification. |
| RTX 5070 Ti Super | Often rumored to have 24GB GDDR7. | Unconfirmed leak claim; no NVIDIA specification. |
| RTX 5070 Super | Often rumored to have 18GB GDDR7. | Unconfirmed leak claim; no NVIDIA specification. |
| RTX 5060 or RTX 5060 Super | A possible 12GB RTX 5060 or RTX 5060 Super was mentioned in 2026 leak reporting. | Unconfirmed possibility; the reports do not establish which, if either, will exist. |
Memory capacity, power, performance, pricing and regional availability could all differ if NVIDIA announces products. Do not treat the rumored VRAM figures as a reason to assume a particular card is coming or will suit a specific workload.

Make the choice based on how soon you need a GPU, what you can spend, how much VRAM your work or games require, and how much uncertainty you are willing to accept. The rumors do not provide a confirmed price or specification against which to compare a current card.
Quick Recap
| Your situation | Practical approach |
|---|---|
| You need a GPU now | Evaluate currently listed models such as the RTX 5080 or RTX 5070 Ti against your workload, budget and available options. Their existence is confirmed; a Super replacement is not. |
| You can wait and want to compare a possible upgrade | Waiting may let you assess an announced product if one appears, but there is no confirmed date, price, specification or regional availability for a Super card. |
| You need more VRAM than current options offer | Base the purchase on the memory requirements of your actual applications and verified product specifications. The rumored 18GB and 24GB capacities are not confirmed. |
| You are concerned about buying just before a refresh | Set a purchase deadline and a budget threshold in advance. Without an official launch date, waiting indefinitely can leave you postponing a purchase for a product that may not arrive on the rumored schedule. |
