Apple has not announced an OLED touchscreen MacBook Pro or a release date. Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman has reported that Apple could introduce rumored 14-inch and 16-inch models in October or November 2026, but the timing remains uncertain and an early 2027 delay has also been reported as possible.
When could the OLED touchscreen MacBook Pro launch?
Gurman gave an October-or-November 2026 window, according to MacRumors’s October 1 report of remarks on his Power On podcast. He said, “Apple, I believe, will introduce its first touchscreen MacBook Pro this fall, as early as October,” and added, “It could slip to November, but as early as October.” MacRumors
This is a reported forecast, not an Apple-confirmed announcement or a guarantee that the laptops will be available to buy in either month. 9to5Mac notes that a delay into early 2027 had previously been considered possible, while Macworld also emphasizes that Apple has not confirmed the device. 9to5Mac Macworld

What other features have been reported?
MacRumors also lists M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, a thinner design, and a Dynamic Island in place of the current notch among the rumored details. These are possibilities reported alongside the launch forecast, not settled specifications. The report says Apple was testing the laptops with macOS 27.2 beta; that is an attributed claim about internal testing, not public confirmation of a release. MacRumors
Apple’s March 3, 2026 environmental report identifies MacBook Pro configurations with M5 Pro or M5 Max, so those chips are present in a separate current MacBook Pro family. That does not establish that the rumored OLED touchscreen models will use them. Apple Product Environmental Report

If you can wait, doing so may let you see whether Apple announces the rumored models and what their actual specifications and availability are. The timing could shift, however, so waiting means accepting that there is no confirmed launch date. The reports do not establish a final price, retail availability, performance, battery life, or definitive OLED specifications, so those cannot yet support a direct comparison with current models.
