You cannot manually change the country on a Netflix account. Netflix says the country changes only when you move to a new country. If you are traveling, keep using the account and expect the available catalog and some features to vary by location. If Netflix detects the wrong country, check your network for a VPN or other routing problem.
First, identify which situation applies

If you moved to another country permanently
Netflix’s official policy is: “The country on your account can’t be changed unless you move to a new one.” There is no supported country selector in Account settings. Because the relocation process can involve country-specific account and payment details, follow Netflix’s current Help Center article titled Moving with Netflix rather than relying on a generic settings walkthrough.
Netflix operates in more than 190 countries, and each country has its own mix of Netflix originals and licensed titles. After a move, the catalog associated with your location may therefore differ from what you watched before.

If you are traveling temporarily
You do not need to change your account country for a vacation, business trip, or other temporary stay. Netflix says it is designed to work while traveling on phones, computers, hotel televisions, and televisions in holiday rentals.

What can change abroad
- The shows and movies available to stream can differ by country.
- Audio and subtitle choices may change.
- My List and Continue Watching can look different while you are outside the country where you signed up.
- Maturity ratings may use the rules of the country you are visiting.
- Downloads and download availability can differ.
- Some payment methods may not be eligible in the country you are visiting.
These differences reflect country-specific licensing and service rules; they do not mean that your account country has been edited.
For a frequently visited second location
Netflix recommends a monthly connection refresh for people with a second home or a recurring travel location: stream for a few seconds from your main location, then repeat the brief stream from the second location once a month. This is intended to help Netflix recognize regular use in both places; it is not a way to change the account country.

If Netflix thinks you are in the wrong country
A VPN can hide your real region from Netflix. Netflix states that VPN use limits you to titles available globally, rather than the full catalog for the country you are actually in.

- Select Show more info.
- Find Client country and compare it with your physical location.
- If the client country is wrong, disable the VPN and reload Netflix.
- If you did not enable a VPN, contact the VPN provider, internet service provider, or network administrator responsible for the connection.
A mismatched client country can come from a VPN, managed corporate or school network, or another routing configuration. Fast.com identifies the country Netflix sees; it does not provide a control for changing your Netflix account country.

What will not change your Netflix country
- Changing the profile language, maturity settings, or playback settings.
- Traveling without moving permanently.
- Using a VPN to select another catalog. Netflix says this hides your region and restricts viewing to globally available titles.
- Buying a streaming stick, travel router, or gift card. Those products do not perform the documented account-country change, and payment or gift-card eligibility varies by country.
How Netflix country, viewing location, and network location differ
Account country
This is the country associated with the subscription. Netflix says it cannot be changed unless you move to a new country.
Viewing location
This is where you are physically watching. During travel, Netflix can work normally while presenting a different catalog, ratings, language options, and download behavior.

Detected network country
This is the country Netflix infers from your internet connection. A VPN or unusual network route can make it disagree with your physical location, which is why the Fast.com check is useful.
Bottom line
There is no manual “change country” switch in Netflix. Permanent movers should use Netflix’s official moving guidance; travelers should keep streaming and expect location-based differences; and anyone seeing the wrong country should check Fast.com and remove or troubleshoot the VPN or network route.
