To add multiple links to your Instagram bio, open your profile, tap Edit profile → Links → Add external link, enter the URL and an optional title, then tap Done. Repeat for each destination. Instagram currently allows up to five external profile links, although menu labels and availability can vary slightly by app version or account rollout.
Add multiple links from the Instagram app
The native Instagram feature is available to personal and professional accounts. You manage these links in the profile editor—not by typing URLs into the bio text field, Threads, or Accounts Center.
- Open the Instagram app on your iPhone or Android phone.
- Tap your profile picture in the lower-right corner.
- Tap Edit profile.
- Tap Links.
- Tap Add external link.
- Paste or type the complete web address, including the correct domain and protocol where applicable.
- Enter a short title that tells visitors what they will find. Examples include Shop, Newsletter, Book a call, Latest video, or Download the guide.
- Tap Done to save the link.
- Repeat the process for your other destinations, up to Instagram’s current native limit of five external links.
Instagram’s external-link feature and its current five-link limit are described in this current walkthrough of Instagram profile links. If your screen uses slightly different wording, look for the profile editor’s Links section; Instagram periodically changes labels and rolls features out differently across app versions and accounts.
Choose useful titles and put the priority link first
A visitor may see a group of links beneath your profile information and may need to tap to expand the list. Titles therefore matter: “Link 1” and long unexplained URLs make visitors guess, while “Book a consultation” or “Join the newsletter” explains the next step immediately.

- Join the newsletter
- Latest video, portfolio, or other secondary destination
Current third-party guidance reports that Instagram can reorder saved links. If the option is available in your app, place the most important destination first, then visit your public profile to confirm the order. Because Instagram can change this interface, treat the live profile—not an older screenshot—as the final check. Meta says profile links are part of public profile information that can be seen by people on or off Instagram, subject to the visibility rules of the profile and destination. See Meta’s profile-information guidance.
How many links can you add?
Instagram currently permits up to five external profile links in its native link list. That limit applies to Instagram’s built-in feature; adding a link-in-bio page as one of your links does not create additional native Instagram slots. Instead, that one URL opens a separate page containing more destinations.
If you only need a website, store, booking page, newsletter, and one important campaign, native links are usually the simplest option. They are free to manage inside Instagram and do not require visitors to pass through another service.

Native Instagram links versus a link-in-bio page
| Choose native Instagram links when… | Choose a link-in-bio page when… |
|---|---|
| You have five or fewer destinations. | You need more than five destinations. |
| You want the shortest, simplest setup. | You want one stable URL that you can update without repeatedly editing Instagram. |
| You do not need a custom landing-page design or link analytics. | You need branding, click analytics, lead capture, digital-product sales, or other creator-business features. |
| You want links managed directly by Instagram. | You want to group links, campaigns, products, and signup options on one landing page. |
A link-in-bio service is not required to add multiple Instagram links. It is a management and presentation layer for cases where Instagram’s five-link list is too limited or where you need more control. Make sure the page loads quickly on a phone and keep its most important destination near the top.
Use Linktree as a link hub
Linktree’s link-in-bio page can hold multiple destinations behind one URL. Linktree’s current materials describe features such as unlimited links, themes, analytics, contact forms, digital products, and other customization or monetization tools. To use it:
- Create and configure your Linktree page.
- Add your website, store, newsletter, booking page, social profiles, or other destinations.
- Copy the Linktree URL.
- Return to Instagram and use Profile → Edit profile → Links → Add external link.
- Paste the Linktree URL, give it a descriptive title such as All my links, and tap Done.
This uses one of Instagram’s five native slots; it does not expand Instagram’s own limit. Features and pricing can change, so check the provider’s current terms before choosing a plan. No referral-program, commission, or eligibility claim is implied here.
Use Canva for a visual link-in-bio page
Canva’s link-in-bio website is a reasonable alternative if visual presentation matters or you already use Canva for social graphics. Canva describes a responsive page that can combine multiple URLs with graphics and branded design elements. Publish the page, copy its URL, and add that URL to Instagram through Edit profile → Links → Add external link.

- The flexible legs wrap around bicycles, poles, branches and more for seamless stability
- Whether you're an amateur, enthusiast or professional, this is a must-have accessory for shooting on the go
Canva is especially useful when the landing page should look like a designed mini-website rather than a plain list. As with any external page, test the published mobile view and every destination before sharing it. Commercial-program terms have not been verified, so none are assumed.
Test your links before sending people to your profile
- Open the public profile: Check the profile as a visitor would see it, not only inside the editor.
- Tap every link: Confirm that each destination opens and that the title matches the page.
- Check the URL: Look for misspellings, accidental spaces, missing characters, or an old campaign address.
- Test on mobile data: A page that works on your home Wi-Fi may still fail because of redirects, login requirements, or slow hosting.
- Check the in-app browser: Some destinations block Instagram’s in-app browser or require users to sign in. If so, explain the next step clearly or use a more compatible landing page.
- Review the first link: Make sure your highest-value or most time-sensitive destination is the one visitors see first.
- Review periodically: Remove expired promotions and replace broken or outdated destinations.
Fix common problems
The Links option is missing
First confirm that you are editing the Instagram profile itself, not a Threads profile or another Meta profile. Update Instagram through your device’s app store, close and reopen the app, then return to Profile → Edit profile. Instagram may also be testing or rolling out interface changes by account, so two accounts may not show identical labels at the same time.
Do not switch to a professional account solely to obtain external profile links: current guidance indicates that personal accounts can use them too.
Only one link seems visible
Open Profile → Edit profile → Links and confirm that all links were saved. On the public profile, Instagram may emphasize the first link while placing the rest behind the profile-link control. Tap that control to expand the group, and check the order.

- One-Tap Open + One-Pull Close: The iPhone tripod features a Tap-to-Open mechanism that springs all three legs open the instant the base taps the ground — no prying, no unclipping, no two-handed struggle. One-Pull Close retracts everything in a single upward motion: lift the pole, legs snap shut, ready to pack. Solo traveler, street vlogger, or event photographer — set up in 1 second, pack up in 1 second, never miss the moment.
- 0.77lb Ultralight Build: The phone tripod stand uses ultralight construction to keep total weight at just 0.77lb (less than a full water bottle), so this is the tripod you'll actually bring, not leave at the hotel. Telescopic design extends from a 14" packed length to a full 65" shooting height, fitting cleanly into a backpack side pocket, carry-on bag, or large tote. Weighing-in-at-0.77lb portability means no bulge, no strain, and no second-guessing whether to pack it on a beach day, a day hike, or a cross-country flight.
- Zero-Wobble Tripod Base: The iPhone tripod stand delivers a zero-wobble triangular base that spans up to 17.7 inches wide, with aluminum alloy support bars and high-friction silicone feet that grip on hard floors, soft grass, beach sand, and rough outdoor terrain alike. Anti-tipping silicone pads lock load-bearing capacity in place so your phone stays framed even in light wind — no sandbag, no safety hand hovering underneath. Stability like this is what makes the difference between a shot and a missed shot.
- Built for Creators: The tripod for cell phone includes a cold shoe mount that connects directly to a microphone, LED light with no adapter required, upgrading any phone into a full recording rig. Dual selfie-stick and freestanding tripod modes switch instantly — selfie mode for run-and-gun vlogging, tripod mode for locked-down talking-head or product shoots. Cold shoe + Bluetooth remote + 65" height in one stick means one bag, one setup, zero compromise — for TikTok, YouTube, Instagram Reels, or live stream, whichever platform you create on.
- Flexible Adjustment: The selfie stick tripod supports 360° rotation and 180° tilt, allowing for effortless overhead, low-angle, and portrait-to-landscape switching. It's perfect for OOTDs, product reviews, beauty tutorials, or scenic shots. Its arms extend to fit devices up to 3.4 inches wide, compatible with iPhone 18/17/16/15/14 Pro Max. Integrated silicone pads ensure a secure grip, effectively preventing slips and scratches.
A link will not open
Copy the address into a normal mobile browser and test it there. Correct the domain, remove spaces, and confirm that the page still exists. The destination—not Instagram—may be causing the failure if it blocks the in-app browser, redirects excessively, requires an account, or is restricted to a particular country or audience.
You need to remove or replace a link
Go to Profile → Edit profile → Links, select the existing link, and use the available remove or delete control. Button names can vary by app version. Save the change, then check the public profile again. If a destination changes frequently, putting a stable link-in-bio URL in Instagram and updating destinations on that page can reduce repeated profile edits.

Adding profile links and publishing Instagram content are separate tasks. If you also manage recurring posts, Reels, or Stories, Buffer’s Instagram scheduling documentation explains its automatic and notification-based publishing options, which vary by content and account type. Buffer also promotes a Start Page link-in-bio feature. It is an adjacent workflow tool, not a requirement for adding multiple links.
Likewise, a phone tripod or ring-light/tripod combination may help with hands-free Reels or Stories, but no equipment is needed to configure profile links. Choose creator gear only if you are also trying to improve how you produce Instagram content.

- Versatile Screw Design: 1/4" screw hole compatible with tripods, selfie sticks, cameras, and various accessories.
- 360° Rotation, 180° Tilt: Effortlessly switch between landscape and portrait mode with adjustable angle design for precise control.
- Universal Phone Compatibility: Fits smartphones from iPhone 14 to Galaxy S23 Ultra, accommodating devices within 2.16" to 3.7" width. For best results, avoid clamping directly on the side buttons. Adjust the position slightly higher or lower if your phone has thick cases or protruding buttons.
- Secure Grip: Thick non-slip silicone pad ensures stability even with a thick phone case.
Important distinction: profile links are not caption links
The steps above add links to your Instagram profile. They do not make ordinary Instagram post captions clickable. If a destination is important, put it in the profile-link list and direct viewers to it with clear wording in your caption, Reel, Story, or bio. Keep the destination title specific so visitors know exactly what will happen after they tap.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can personal Instagram accounts add multiple links?
Yes. Current guidance indicates that external profile links are available to personal as well as professional accounts. A professional account is not required for this feature.
How many links can I add to my Instagram bio?
Instagram currently allows up to five native external profile links. A Linktree, Canva, or similar page can contain more destinations, but that page occupies only one Instagram link slot and does not increase Instagram’s native limit.
Can I add clickable links to Instagram post captions?
The native link list is attached to your profile. Ordinary post captions are not made clickable by adding a URL there, so direct important traffic to a profile link or another Instagram feature that supports links.

Why can’t I see the Links option on Instagram?
Make sure you are editing the Instagram profile itself, update the app, close and reopen it, and check Edit profile again. Instagram can change labels and roll features out by app version or account, so the interface may not look identical for everyone.
Should I use Instagram’s native links or Linktree?
Use native links when you have five or fewer destinations and want the simplest setup. Use a link-in-bio page when you need more destinations, branding, analytics, lead capture, digital products, or one stable URL that can be updated without repeatedly editing Instagram.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: Use Profile → Edit profile → Links → Add external link to add up to five native Instagram profile links. Give each one a clear title, place the most important destination first, and test the public profile. If five links are not enough, add one Linktree, Canva, or comparable link-in-bio URL and manage the larger collection on that page.
