Open Installed apps with a command
The quickest method is to use the Windows Settings URI for the page:

ms-settings:appsfeatures
- Press Windows key + R to open Run.
- Enter
ms-settings:appsfeatures. - Press Enter.
Windows opens Settings > Apps > Installed apps. The command still contains the older appsfeatures name, even though the visible page is called Installed apps.
How to uninstall an app
To remove an application from the current Windows 11 Settings page:
- Open Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- Use the search box or sort the list to find the app.
- Select the … button beside the app.
- Select Uninstall.
- Follow the uninstaller’s instructions, if Windows opens one.
You can also uninstall many apps by opening Start > All apps, right-clicking the app, and selecting Uninstall.
Repair or reset an app
Some Windows 11 apps provide troubleshooting controls in Installed apps. Select … > Advanced options beside the app, then look for these choices:
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Repair | Attempts to fix the app without removing its data. |
| Reset | Reinstalls or resets the app and may remove its data and settings. |
Use Repair first when it is available. Treat Reset as a more disruptive step, especially for an app that stores local preferences or data.

Not every application supports Advanced options, Repair, or Reset. Their absence does not necessarily mean that Windows is damaged. Traditional desktop programs often provide their own repair tools instead.
Programs and Features is still available
Windows 11 retains the older Control Panel uninstall interface, which is called Programs and Features:
Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features
To open it directly, press Windows key + R, enter the following command, and press Enter:
appwiz.cpl
Programs and Features and Installed apps are separate interfaces. Programs installed with a conventional desktop installer may appear in Programs and Features, while Microsoft Store and other packaged apps are generally managed through Installed apps.
If a program is missing from one list, check the other. Neither page should be assumed to be a complete list of every piece of software on the computer.

What to do if Uninstall is missing or fails
Some apps are built into Windows and cannot be removed normally. For other applications, the Uninstall command may be unavailable in Settings or may fail when selected.
Try these steps:
- Open Settings > Apps > Installed apps and try the app’s … > Uninstall option.
- If that does not work, open Programs and Features with
appwiz.cpl. - Select the program in the Control Panel list and choose Uninstall, Change, or Repair, depending on what the installer provides.
- If neither location offers an uninstall option, check the software publisher’s documentation for its removal tool.
Avoid deleting an application’s folder manually. That can leave services, shortcuts, drivers, and uninstall information behind.

Do not confuse Installed apps with Optional features
Optional features is a different Settings page. It manages add-on Windows components such as language-related features and legacy components, rather than ordinary installed applications.
Open it through Start > Settings > Apps > Optional features, or use this Run command:
ms-settings:optionalfeatures
Use Installed apps for applications such as browsers, media players, and productivity software. Use Optional features for Windows components that are added or removed separately.

System Components in Installed apps
On current Windows 11 releases, Microsoft also moved System Components into Settings > Apps > Installed apps. This change began appearing with the October 31, 2023 updates for OS Builds 22621.2506 and 22631.2506.

Apps & features was the name used by Windows 10. Windows 11 renamed the visible page to Installed apps, but Microsoft retained the underlying Settings link and the ms-settings:appsfeatures command for compatibility.
Therefore, Windows 11 has not removed the feature. If an older guide tells you to open Apps & features, follow the same path under the newer name: Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
