To log in to TikTok with a QR code, open TikTok’s web login page and choose Use QR code. TikTok also documents QR scanning for passkey-enabled sign-in on another device; the exact in-app route for opening the general QR scanner is not specified in the official material reviewed.
If QR login is unavailable, TikTok’s web login page also offers Use phone / email / username. TikTok may ask for additional verification if it does not recognize your device or if you are signing in through a third-party application.
Log in with TikTok’s web QR code
- Open TikTok’s web login page.
- Choose Use QR code.
- Follow TikTok’s on-screen instructions to scan the displayed code. The official sources reviewed do not establish the exact in-app menu taps for opening the scanner, so the route may depend on the client or sign-in flow.
- Complete any approval or security prompts TikTok displays. Only approve a login you initiated.
Use a passkey to sign in on another device
TikTok also documents QR scanning as part of passkey sign-in on another Apple or Android device. This is a separate description of cross-device passkey use; do not assume its prerequisites apply to every web QR login.
- Set up a TikTok passkey on a supported device while signed in to your account.
- Start signing in on the other Apple or Android device and choose that device’s passkey or sign-in options.
- When prompted, scan the QR code with the device that can use your passkey. Apple users may be offered AirDrop as an alternative for sharing the passkey.
- Approve the passkey sign-in using the device authentication prompt, such as a face, fingerprint, or passcode.

These requirements are for TikTok passkeys, not a stated requirement for every QR login option. TikTok says passkeys use device authentication and that it is notified when authentication is accepted.

Other ways to log in or recover your account
If you cannot use QR login, choose Use phone / email / username on TikTok’s web login page and follow the prompts. For a forgotten password while logged out, TikTok documents this route:
- Choose Use phone/email/username.
- Select Email/Username.
- Tap Forgot password?.
- Reset the password using the account’s linked phone number or email address.

Keep your login secure
TikTok recommends linking a phone number and email address, turning on two-step verification, managing trusted devices, and adding a passkey. It may require your password and a one-time code sent by SMS or email when a login comes from an unrecognized device or a third-party application. Is QR login the same as passkey login?
Not necessarily. TikTok lists QR login on its web login page and separately documents QR scanning for passkey sign-in on another device. The passkey requirements apply to the documented passkey flow.
What can I do if QR login is unavailable?
Choose Use phone / email / username on the web login page. If you have forgotten your password, use TikTok’s password recovery flow with the phone number or email linked to your account.

Can TikTok ask for a verification code after I scan a QR code?
Yes. TikTok may request a password and a one-time SMS or email code for a login from an unrecognized device or third-party application.
Can I use AirDrop instead of scanning?
TikTok says Apple users may be offered AirDrop to share a passkey when signing in on another device. It is an alternative in that passkey flow, not a general replacement for every QR login.
