Facebook posts can fail to load as a blank Feed, show an endless spinner, or appear to be missing while other parts of Facebook still work. Start by closing and reopening Facebook, checking your connection, and refreshing the page or app; then use the device-specific steps below. If the Feed loads but a particular post is missing, check When Facebook loads but a post is missing.
The cause may be a temporary app or browser problem, an unreliable connection, cached browser data, Feed ranking, audience settings, or an account restriction.
Quick fixes for Facebook posts not loading
- Refresh Facebook. On a computer or mobile browser, reload the page. In the app, close Facebook completely and open it again.
- Check your connection. Switch between Wi‑Fi and mobile data, or open another website or app that uses the internet. A weak connection can leave posts stuck loading.
- Restart your device. This clears temporary system problems that may affect the Facebook app or browser.
- Try Facebook on another device or browser. If posts load elsewhere, the problem is probably local to the original app, browser, or device.
Facebook’s troubleshooting guidance recommends refreshing or reopening Facebook, checking the connection, updating the app, and restarting the device or computer. See Facebook’s troubleshooting page. For a completely blank Feed, Facebook also specifically recommends closing and reopening Facebook to refresh it: Facebook’s blank Feed guidance.
Fix Facebook posts not loading in a computer browser
1. Refresh Facebook and reopen the page
Reload the Facebook tab. If that does not help, close the tab, open a new one, and go to facebook.com again. Restart the computer if the page remains blank or the loading indicator never finishes.

2. Clear the browser cache
Cached or temporary browser data can cause Facebook’s layout or content to display incorrectly. Clear the cache from your browser’s Settings or Preferences, then reopen Facebook and sign in again if necessary.
The exact menu differs by browser version and operating system, so there is no single universal Facebook cache path. For example, look under a section named Privacy, Privacy and security, or Clear browsing data. Facebook explains this limitation in its browser troubleshooting guidance.
3. Disable extensions temporarily
If clearing cached data changes nothing, a third-party extension may be interfering with Facebook. Temporarily disable ad blockers, privacy tools, script blockers, and other browser add-ons. Reopen Facebook after disabling them.
If the posts load, re-enable extensions one at a time to identify the one causing the problem. Do not leave an extension disabled permanently unless you have confirmed it is responsible.

4. Try another browser
Open Facebook in a different browser. Facebook gives switching from Chrome to Firefox as an example. This test helps separate a Facebook account or service problem from a problem with the original browser profile.
Fix Facebook posts not loading on an iPhone or iPad
- Open the App Store, tap your profile picture, and check for a Facebook update.
- Confirm that Wi‑Fi or mobile data works reliably. If possible, use Wi‑Fi while downloading the update.
- Close the Facebook app completely, reopen it, and try the Feed again.
- Restart the iPhone or iPad.
- Install any available iOS or iPadOS update. Also check that the device has enough storage and runs an operating system supported by the current Facebook app.
If the App Store will not update Facebook, lack of storage, an unreliable connection, an outdated device system, or an unsupported operating system can be involved. Check those items before considering a reinstall. Facebook lists these checks in its iPhone and iPad app guidance.
Fix Facebook posts not loading on Android
- Open the Google Play Store, search for Facebook, and tap Update if one is available. Update Facebook Lite instead if that is the app you use.
- Test your Wi‑Fi or mobile-data connection. Switch connections if the current one is unstable.
- Close and reopen Facebook.
- Restart the Android phone or tablet.
- Check for Android system updates and confirm that the device has sufficient free storage.
Facebook states that its Android app supports Android 6.0 or later. An unsupported Android version may not receive regular Facebook updates or new features.
If the app cannot be updated or downloaded, Facebook’s recommended checks are connection strength, available storage, device-system updates, and operating-system support. Only after those checks should you uninstall Facebook, restart the device, and reinstall it from the device’s app center. This is not the first step because it can create unnecessary sign-in and download work.

Fix Facebook posts not loading in a mobile browser
- Refresh the Facebook page.
- Close the page and open Facebook again.
- Clear the mobile browser’s cache from its settings.
- Try a different mobile browser.
- Restart the phone or tablet.
These steps apply when you use Facebook in Safari, Chrome, Firefox, or another mobile browser rather than the Facebook app. Browser cache controls vary by browser and operating system.
When Facebook loads but a particular post is missing
A working Feed does not guarantee that every post appears in the main Home view. Facebook’s default Feed uses ranking, so it does not simply display all posts in chronological order. Facebook says a post should appear immediately for its selected audience; if it does not, report the problem rather than assuming it was deleted.
To check recent posts, open the Feeds tab:
- iPhone or Android: Open Facebook and select Feeds.
- Computer: Select See More in the left menu, then select Feeds.
The Feeds tab shows the most recent posts from people, Favorites, Pages, and groups you follow. Selecting a recent-post view is useful for checking whether the content is present but ranked lower in Home. It is not a permanent change: Facebook says Feed sorting eventually returns to its default setting. See Facebook’s Feed sorting guidance.
If someone’s post still does not appear, possible explanations include the post’s audience settings, settings changed by you or another person, a feature that is not available to every account, or a restriction that prevents an account from posting, commenting, or sharing. A missing post does not by itself prove that Facebook deleted it.

How to report Facebook when posts still will not load
After trying the relevant device steps, report the problem with details about what happens: for example, “Home Feed is blank,” “posts show a spinner indefinitely,” or “only posts from one Page are missing.” Include your device, app or browser, and whether the problem occurs on Wi‑Fi, mobile data, or both.
- iPhone or Android app: Shake the phone and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Computer or iPad: Open Help & Support, then choose Report a Problem.
- Mobile browser: Tap Report a Problem.
Facebook’s instructions for reporting a broken feature are available on its technical-problem help page.
What the symptom usually indicates
| Symptom | Best first test | Likely area to investigate |
|---|---|---|
| Blank Feed everywhere | Close and reopen Facebook, then restart the device | Temporary app, browser, connection, or Facebook service problem |
| Posts load in another browser | Clear cache and disable extensions in the original browser | Cached data or a browser add-on |
| Home works but a post is absent | Open Feeds | Feed ranking, audience settings, or account/content availability |
| Facebook will not update | Check storage, connection, and system support | Device storage, outdated operating system, or unsupported version |
| Posting and commenting are also blocked | Check for an account or action restriction | Facebook limitation rather than a loading problem |
FAQ
Why is my Facebook Feed completely blank?
A blank Feed can result from a temporary app, browser, connection, or Facebook problem. Close and reopen Facebook first, then check the connection, update the app or browser, and restart the device. If it remains blank, report the problem through Facebook’s Help & Support options.
Why are some Facebook posts missing but other posts load?
Facebook’s default Feed uses ranking, so it does not show every post in chronological order. Open the Feeds tab to check the most recent posts from people, Favorites, Pages, and groups you follow. Audience settings, feature availability, and account restrictions can also affect what appears.

Should I clear the Facebook app cache?
Facebook’s cited troubleshooting guidance specifically recommends clearing the browser cache for browser display problems. For the mobile app, it recommends updating, checking the connection, closing and reopening the app, and restarting the device; it does not provide one universal Facebook app-cache command or in-app path.
Should I reinstall Facebook to fix posts that will not load?
Not first. Check the connection, available storage, device-system updates, and supported operating system before reinstalling. On Android, Facebook lists uninstalling, restarting, and reinstalling after those checks if downloading or updating continues to fail.
Is Facebook showing posts in chronological order?
Not by default. Facebook’s normal Feed uses ranking. The Feeds tab is the route for viewing recent posts, although Facebook says Feed sorting eventually returns to its default setting.
The Bottom Line
Start by reopening Facebook, checking the connection, and restarting the device. On a computer, clear the browser cache and test with another browser after disabling extensions. On phones and tablets, update Facebook and the device system, and check storage and operating-system support. If the Feed works but individual posts are missing, check Feeds before assuming the content was removed. Report the problem through Facebook if these tests do not resolve it.
