How to download QuickTime 7.7.9
- Open Apple’s official Download QuickTime 7.7.9 for Windows page.
- Review Apple’s warning: QuickTime 7 for Windows is no longer supported, and the listed system requirements are Windows Vista or Windows 7.
- Use Apple’s download link if you have a specific legacy requirement for QuickTime. Apple lists the installer as 41.9 MB.
- Save the installer and verify that you obtained it from Apple before opening it.

Do not open media from untrusted sources with QuickTime. If a legacy workflow requires the software, limit its use to that specific need and use media from sources you trust.
Do you need the QuickTime browser plug-in?
Usually, no. Apple says current Windows browsers support video without browser plug-ins, so the legacy QuickTime plug-in is not needed for ordinary browser video. Installing an unsupported plug-in is not a way to improve video playback in current browsers.
