The descriptor alone does not identify the specific item. To find it, compare your statement with Apple purchase history; Apple may group several purchases into one bill.
Identify the charge online
- Go to reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Sign in with the Apple Account and password associated with the purchase.
- Review the purchase list.
- If you know the amount shown by your bank, search Apple’s purchase history for that amount.
Check the date as well as the amount. Apple charges can appear on your statement several days after the purchases occurred, so the statement date may differ from the purchase date.
Check Apple purchase history on an iPhone
- Open the App Store.
- Tap the Sign-In button or your photo at the top.
- Tap Purchase History. Sign in if prompted.
- Tap Last 90 days at the top to choose a wider date range or another filter.
Check it on an iPad
- Open the App Store.
- Tap the Sign-In button or your photo.
- Choose Apps & Purchase History, then Purchase History.
- Tap Last 90 days to choose another date range or filter.
Check it on a Mac
- Open the App Store.
- Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar.
- Click Account Settings.
- Scroll to Purchase History.
- Use Last 90 Days to choose a different date range or filter.
Check it on a Windows PC
- Open the Apple Music app or the Apple TV app.
- Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar and choose View My Account.
- Scroll to Purchase History.
- Next to Most Recent Purchase, click See All.
- Click Last 90 days to change the filter.
The purchase history may take a moment to appear.
Why the amount does not match one purchase
One apple.com/bill line on your statement may represent multiple Apple purchases. Apple can group purchases and subscriptions into one bill, including purchases made on different days. A separate email receipt may not be sent for every purchase in a grouped bill.
Compare the statement total with the total of multiple entries in Apple purchase history, rather than looking only for one item with the same amount.

If nothing appears in purchase history
Check whether you use more than one Apple Account. A purchase made with another account will not appear in the history for the account you are currently viewing.
- Sign out of the Apple Account you checked.
- Sign in with another Apple Account you may have used.
- Repeat the purchase-history search and apply the relevant date range.
Also ask family members whether they made the purchase. With Family Sharing and Purchase Sharing turned on, the family organizer’s payment method is charged for family purchases unless the purchasing member has a valid payment method.
The organizer can review a family member’s purchases in purchase history by selecting the Apple Account button and choosing the relevant family member.

Use your bank’s receipt link, if available
Some banks and financial institutions show a link such as View Receipt beside eligible App Store, iTunes Store, Apple Books, Apple Music, or iCloud transactions. Selecting it displays more purchase detail through Apple.

Availability depends on the financial institution. Apple displays the detailed receipt to the payment-account owner signed in to that account. If a family member used someone else’s card, the cardholder may be able to view the receipt.
If you paid with Apple Card
On an iPhone:
- Open Wallet.
- Tap Apple Card.
- Under Latest Card Transactions, tap the Apple Services transaction.
- Tap the transaction again to view details.
Details can include the date and time, transaction status, and purchased item. On an Apple Card PDF statement, Apple Services purchases may appear as apple.com/bill or itunes.com/bill.

What to do if the charge is not yours
Ask family members whether they made the purchase. If someone else is using your Apple Account and password, change your Apple Account password.
If you identify an unwanted subscription, use Apple’s billing-support options to cancel it. Canceling prevents future subscription charges; it does not identify or reverse a charge that has already posted.

If the transaction remains unexplained, contact your bank or card issuer through its official app or the number on your card. An email claiming to be an Apple receipt may not be from Apple and is not proof of a bank charge. Verify the transaction in Apple purchase history or with your financial institution.
EU alternative-payment exception
In the European Union, some apps use alternative payment systems or link to the developer’s website for certain in-app digital-goods purchases. Those transactions are not billed through the App Store or its In-App Purchase system. If the purchase is absent from Apple purchase history and was made through one of those systems, contact the app developer.

Does apple.com/bill always mean an Apple subscription?
No. It can be an app, in-app purchase, subscription, media purchase, book, or another Apple-billed service. Check purchase history to identify the item.

Why is an Apple charge larger than any purchase I made?
Apple may have grouped multiple purchases or subscriptions into one bill. Purchases made on different days can appear as one bank transaction.
Can I find an apple.com/bill charge without an iPhone?
Yes. Use reportaproblem.apple.com in a browser, or use the Apple Music or Apple TV app on a Windows PC.
What if Apple purchase history shows nothing?
Sign in with any other Apple Account you may have used, ask family members whether they made the purchase, and consider whether the transaction used an alternative payment system in the EU.
Will canceling a subscription refund the existing charge?
No. Canceling prevents future charges. An already-posted charge requires a separate refund request if eligible.
