Domains using YIFY or YTS are frequently copied, redirected, abandoned, blocked, or replaced, and a page that opens successfully is not proof that it is an authentic mirror.
This guide treats popular proxy lists as claims to evaluate—not as a set of download links. It explains what can be established, why the lists conflict, and how to avoid common clone, malware, privacy, and copyright risks.
What happened to the original YIFY?
The original YIFY/YTS release operation is reported to have shut down on October 30, 2015 (Wikipedia’s YIFY history). Later services using the YIFY or YTS names may be continuations, clones, or independently operated sites. The name alone does not establish ownership or authenticity.
That distinction matters because proxy directories often describe domains as “official” without providing independently verifiable evidence. A domain containing YIFY, YTS, proxy, or mirror is just a domain name—not an authenticity certificate.

Why proxy lists cannot be treated as current
Availability changes according to country, ISP, DNS resolver, hosting provider, domain registration, and the date of the check. A list published in January may already be inaccurate when indexed by a search engine or read months later.
The available status pages also contradict one another. YIFYStatus claims that YTS.GG, YTS.BZ, YTS.LT, and YTS.AM are operational. A separate YTS proxy-status page says YTS.DO is the current official domain while also listing several of the same domains. Neither claim independently proves ownership or safety.
For that reason, the domains below should be understood as reported claims, not recommendations or verified working links:
| Domain or category | What the available reports claim | What that does not prove |
|---|---|---|
| YTS.GG, YTS.BZ, YTS.LT, YTS.AM | YIFYStatus lists these as operational or official domains. | That they are operated by the original YIFY group, safe, available in your country, or free of misleading advertising. |
| YTS.DO | A separate proxy-status page calls it the current official domain. | That the conflicting claim is accurate or independently verified. |
| Older “active” proxy domains | Some January 2025 articles label domains such as yify-proxy1.com, yifymovies2025.net, yts-proxy.com, and yifytorrentmirror.com as active. | That they still work, are legitimate, or should be visited now. |
| YTS.MX | A May 30, 2026 TorrentFreak report described extended downtime and redirects or Cloudflare-related errors affecting other listed domains. | That a later redirect is an authentic service or that the site will remain available. |
How YIFY proxies and mirrors commonly fail
A proxy is not necessarily a second, authorized copy of a website. It may be a temporary relay, a copied index, an abandoned domain, or a page designed primarily to generate advertising revenue. Reported failure modes include:

- ISP or national blocking;
- DNS failures or incorrect DNS records;
- domain expiration or abandonment;
- hosting-company takedowns;
- domain seizure;
- removal after malware or copyright complaints; and
- redirects to another domain after the original site disappears.
These problems make “working” an especially weak test. A clone can load perfectly while serving a copied movie index, injecting advertisements, or redirecting visitors through unrelated sites. (Source: TechYorker’s YIFY proxy overview.)
Warning signs of a dangerous mirror
Do not assume a page is genuine because it uses the familiar logo, movie posters, layout, or a label such as “official mirror,” “unblocked now,” or “verified today.” Those elements are easy to copy.
Leave the page if it exhibits any of the following behavior:
- Multiple fake download buttons: several large buttons lead to different destinations or open new tabs.
- Forced notification permission: the page says you must click “Allow” to continue, prove you are human, or start a download.
- Unexpected executable files: a movie download produces an executable or browser-extension file rather than the media format you expected.
- Redirect chains: the address changes repeatedly or lands on gambling, adult, software-installation, or “virus detected” pages.
- Requests for payment or account credentials: an unofficial mirror should not be trusted with card details, email passwords, or identity documents.
- Browser warnings: treat certificate errors, blocked downloads, and malware warnings as stop signals—not obstacles to bypass.
If you clicked “Allow” on a notification prompt, remove the site’s notification permission in your browser settings. If you downloaded an unexpected program, do not open it; delete it, run a security scan, and change passwords if you entered credentials. The reported clone behaviors include copied indexes, injected advertising, redirects, fake download buttons, notification prompts, and unsafe downloads (source: TechYorker).

Does a proxy make torrenting anonymous?
No. A web proxy or mirror may change the path used to load a webpage, but it does not guarantee anonymity. It does not automatically prevent logging, browser fingerprinting, account tracking, or malicious redirects. It also does not necessarily hide information exchanged by a BitTorrent client with other peers.
In particular, downloading through BitTorrent can involve uploading pieces of the same file to other participants. A user should not assume that the activity is download-only or invisible to rights holders, internet providers, the proxy operator, or other network observers. (Source: UMA Technology.)
Legal and safer options
Accessing a website and downloading a particular film are separate legal questions. Laws differ by jurisdiction, but downloading or redistributing copyrighted films without authorization can create civil or criminal liability. A proxy does not change the copyright status of the material (source: TechYorker).
For legitimate access, check services that are licensed in your region, such as subscription platforms, digital rental and purchase stores, broadcaster or library services, and official distributor pages. Availability can be checked with a reputable streaming-search service or the film distributor’s own website.

Practical conclusion
No universally reliable YIFY proxy list can be supplied. The lists available online disagree about which domains are “official,” and historical labels such as “active” do not establish present availability, ownership, or safety.
Treat every YIFY/YTS-branded domain as unverified. Do not install software offered by a mirror, grant notification permissions to continue, enter payment credentials, or interpret a successful page load as proof of legitimacy. If you need a film, use a licensed source rather than relying on a changing proxy list.

Is YIFY still operating?
The original YIFY/YTS operation is reported to have become defunct on October 30, 2015. Later websites using the YIFY or YTS name cannot be assumed to be the original group.
Which YIFY proxy is working?
There is no independently verified universal list. Availability varies by country, ISP, DNS provider, hosting status, and date, while proxy-status pages make conflicting claims about domains such as YTS.BZ, YTS.GG, YTS.AM, YTS.LT, and YTS.DO.

- ⚠️ Important Compatibility Requirements A touchscreen display is required for streaming apps. Streaming services require an internet connection (WiFi or phone hotspot) and login with your own app subscriptions. This model uses a single WiFi module, so WiFi must be reconnected when switching between wireless CarPlay/Android Auto and streaming apps.
Is YTS.BZ the official YIFY site?
YIFYStatus claims that YTS.BZ is operational, but that is not independent proof that it is operated by the original YIFY group or that it is safe. Other proxy pages make different “official domain” claims.
Are YIFY mirrors safe?
Not by default. Clones may copy the original index and branding while adding redirect chains, fake download buttons, notification prompts, aggressive advertising, or malicious files.
Does using a YIFY proxy hide my IP address?
A website proxy does not guarantee anonymity and does not necessarily conceal activity from a BitTorrent client’s peer network. It may only alter how a webpage request is routed.
What should I do if a mirror says I must install a player or browser extension?
Do not install it. Close the page, remove any notification permission you granted, delete unexpected downloads, and scan the device with current security software.

Bottom line: YIFY proxy lists are not dependable proof that a domain is working or authentic. The original YIFY operation is reported defunct; newer YIFY/YTS-branded sites are unverified and may be blocked, abandoned, copied, or unsafe. Use licensed film services and avoid downloads, extensions, notification prompts, and redirects from unverified mirrors.
