To fix a Logitech keyboard that is not working in Windows 11, first check its power and connection, then troubleshoot according to whether it is wired, uses a USB receiver, or connects over Bluetooth. If it still fails, test it on another computer to help determine whether the problem is with the keyboard or receiver, or with the Windows PC.
Work through the checks below in order. The steps and likely causes depend on the keyboard’s connection type, so identify that before buying a battery or replacement receiver.
1. Check power and the physical connection
Turn the keyboard off and back on. If it uses batteries, check their charge or install fresh batteries. Not all models use replaceable batteries, so check the keyboard’s model label or product documentation before buying any.
For a wired keyboard, inspect the cable for damage, disconnect and reconnect it, and try another USB port. For a rechargeable model, make sure it has charge before continuing.

If a cable or wireless receiver is connected through a hub, extender, monitor, or KVM switch, connect it directly to the computer instead. If you use a powered hub, check that it has power. Check for dirt obstructing keys; if the keyboard or cable is visibly damaged, avoid further testing that could cause damage.
2. If the keyboard uses a USB receiver
Connect the receiver directly to a USB port on the computer, without a hub or extender. Try another port if Windows does not detect it, then check Device Manager to see whether Windows lists the keyboard or receiver. Testing the receiver on another computer can help isolate the problem.
If another USB port works, the issue may be with the original port or the computer’s USB configuration. Logitech advises that a receiver still not recognized on another computer is more likely to be faulty than the keyboard.

Identify the receiver before pairing or replacing it
Logitech uses distinct receiver technologies, including 2.4 GHz USB, Unifying, and Logi Bolt. Do not assume that a keyboard and receiver using different technologies are compatible. Check the receiver’s markings and the exact keyboard model before trying to pair or buy a replacement.

Start the pairing flow in Logitech’s applicable software and follow its prompts. Logitech’s directions may ask you to switch the keyboard off and on; type a test message when pairing is complete.
A Unifying receiver can pair with up to six Unifying devices, according to Logitech. That compatibility does not apply to receivers using other technologies.

3. Reconnect a Bluetooth Logitech keyboard
Make sure Bluetooth is enabled in Windows and that the keyboard is on, charged or has fresh batteries, within range, and in pairing mode. If it appears in Windows but will not connect, remove it and add it again:
- Open Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices.
- Find the keyboard in the device list and choose the option to remove it.
- Put the keyboard into pairing mode, following the instructions for that model.
- Select Add device > Bluetooth and choose the keyboard.
Run the Bluetooth troubleshooter through the Windows 11 Get Help app. If needed, check Windows Update and restart the PC. Logitech says pairing can take up to five minutes while Windows downloads and enables drivers, depending on the computer and internet speed; this is an estimate, not a guarantee.
4. Check Windows and PC drivers
If the keyboard works on another computer, or other Bluetooth accessories also have problems, investigate the original PC’s Bluetooth adapter and drivers. Microsoft documents these options:

- Check for Windows updates.
- In Device Manager, look for the Bluetooth adapter and check for a driver update.
- Check the PC manufacturer’s support guidance for a current Bluetooth driver.
- If the problem began after a driver update, use Roll Back Driver if it is available. Reinstalling the adapter is another option.
If the Bluetooth switch or toggle is missing, the PC’s Bluetooth hardware may have encountered an error. Check the computer manufacturer’s guidance.
5. Test the keyboard on another computer
After checking power and pairing, connect the keyboard or receiver to another computer. Use any required software or drivers for the test. This helps determine whether the problem follows the keyboard or receiver, or appears only on the original PC.
| Test result | What it suggests | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| The keyboard works on another computer | The original PC’s USB or Bluetooth configuration, driver, or settings may be involved. | Check the relevant Windows or PC drivers and connection settings. |
| The receiver is not recognized on another computer | Logitech says the receiver is the likelier fault. | Check the exact receiver technology and keyboard model before seeking a replacement. |
| The keyboard still fails on another computer | A keyboard, receiver, cable, power, or pairing problem remains possible. | Recheck power and connection, then consult Logitech support for the model. |
Do not assume a particular component has failed without testing. Check the exact model and specified part before buying a battery or receiver.

FAQ
Why is my Logitech keyboard not showing in Windows 11?
It may be switched off, out of power, not in Bluetooth pairing mode, or connected through a receiver Windows cannot detect. For a receiver, connect it directly to the computer, try another USB port, and check Device Manager. For Bluetooth, confirm it is enabled and the keyboard is in pairing mode.
How do I reconnect a Logitech Bluetooth keyboard?
In Settings > Bluetooth & devices, remove the keyboard, put it into pairing mode according to its model instructions, and select Add device > Bluetooth. Make sure the keyboard has power and is within range.
Can I use any Logitech receiver with my keyboard?
No. Logitech uses distinct receiver technologies, and compatibility should not be assumed. Check the receiver markings and the exact keyboard model before pairing or buying a replacement.
What should I do if my Logitech keyboard works on another computer?
Focus on the original PC’s connection and drivers. For Bluetooth, check the PC’s adapter, Windows Update, and the computer manufacturer’s driver guidance. For a USB receiver, try another direct USB port and check Device Manager.
When should I replace the keyboard or receiver?
First check power, connection, pairing, and the exact model. If a receiver remains unrecognized on another computer, Logitech says the receiver is the likelier fault. If the keyboard still fails on another computer after these checks, contact Logitech support or consider service or replacement rather than assuming which component failed.
The Bottom Line
Start with power and a direct connection, then follow the checks for your keyboard’s connection type. For Bluetooth, verify pairing and investigate PC drivers; for a USB receiver, try direct ports and another computer. Confirm the exact Logitech model and receiver technology before replacing parts.
