Cisco renamed AnyConnect, although the VPN component is still called the Cisco AnyConnect VPN core in Cisco documentation.
The current recommended release is Cisco Secure Client 5.1.19.1862, released July 31, 2026. Cisco says future 5.x defect fixes will be delivered only through the 5.1.x release path.
Cisco’s current Windows downloads are not presented as separate “32-bit” and “64-bit” AnyConnect installers. The download site distinguishes between the standard Windows package and a separate Windows ARM64 package. Choose the package that matches your Windows device architecture and your deployment method.
Before downloading: check which Windows 11 package you need
Most conventional Intel and AMD Windows 11 PCs use Cisco’s standard Windows package. Windows 11 PCs with ARM64 processors, such as some Snapdragon-based laptops, require the ARM64 package.

To check the architecture in Windows 11:
- Open Settings.
- Select System and then About.
- Look at System type.

Cisco’s current release documentation does not identify a separate current “Windows 11 32-bit AnyConnect” download. Do not choose a supposed x86 or x64 AnyConnect button from an unofficial download site. Use the standard Windows package unless Windows identifies the computer as ARM64.
Download Cisco Secure Client from Cisco
This is the normal route when you need the current Cisco Secure Client package and have the required Cisco download entitlement.
- Open the Cisco Secure Client product support page.
- Sign in to Cisco.com.
- Click Download Software.
- Expand Latest Releases.
- Select the latest release if it is not already selected. The current recommended release is 5.1.19.1862.
- Locate the package for your computer and deployment method.
- Click Download.
- Accept the Cisco license agreement.
- Choose a local directory and click Save.
Cisco may require a valid entitlement before allowing the download. If you need an older, specific AnyConnect or Secure Client version, Cisco directs you to search for it on the Cisco downloads site.
Choose the correct Windows filename
Cisco’s current package names use “version” as a placeholder for the release number. The relevant Windows files are:

The web-deployment package is intended for deployment from a supported VPN headend, such as an ASA or other Cisco infrastructure. The predeployment ZIP is downloaded and installed separately, making it the usual choice for standalone, network, or mass deployment.
Download multiple Cisco Secure Client packages
If you need more than one package—for example, the standard Windows and ARM64 packages—use Cisco’s download cart:

- On the Download Software page, click Add to cart in each required package row.
- Click Download Cart at the top of the page.
- Accept the Cisco license agreement.
- Choose a local directory.
- Click Save.
Download Cisco Secure Client through Umbrella
Umbrella customers can obtain the client through the Umbrella Dashboard when their subscription includes the required entitlement.
- Sign in to the Umbrella Dashboard.
- Go to Deployments and select Roaming Computers.
- Click the Download icon for Roaming Client.
- Select the Cisco Secure Client version for the operating system.
- Choose either Pre-Deployment Package or Headend Deployment Package.
Cisco recommends the Pre-Deployment Package for standalone, network, and mass deployment. Choose Headend Deployment Package when Cisco VPN customers are deploying centrally from the VPN headend.
Umbrella customers can download Secure Client through packages including DNS Security Essentials, DNS Security Advantage, SIG Security Essentials, and SIG Security Advantage. If your subscription does not include one of these entitlements, contact your account manager about licensing for the Umbrella Roaming Security Module.
If Cisco says your account has no access
An older Cisco account may not be associated automatically with your Umbrella subscription. Cisco’s documented account-association process is:
- Open https://id.cisco.com/.
- Go to Access Management.
- Select Add Access.
- Enter the contract number associated with the subscription.
Windows 11 and ARM64 compatibility
On standard Microsoft-supported Windows 11 versions, Cisco lists the VPN, Network Access Manager, Secure Firewall Posture, ISE Posture, DART, Customer Experience Feedback, Network Visibility Module, Umbrella Roaming Security, ThousandEyes Endpoint Agent, and Zero Trust Access Module as supported. AMP Enabler is listed as unsupported in the current compatibility table.
Windows 11 ARM64 support is narrower. Cisco lists these components as supported:

Cisco lists Network Access Manager, AMP Enabler, and ThousandEyes Endpoint Agent as unsupported for the Windows 11 ARM64 row. Therefore, an ARM64 computer may support the VPN while not supporting every Secure Client module.
Important Windows 11 24H2 setting
On Windows 11 version 24H2 and later, Cisco documents a location-permission issue affecting Network Access Manager and other modules. Before installing, upgrading, or uninstalling a client that includes these components, enable the following settings:
- Open Windows Settings.
- Select Privacy & security.
- Click Location.
- Turn Location Services on.
- Turn Let desktop apps access your location on.
- Reboot Windows.
With location access disabled, Network Access Manager may not start correctly, and an upgrade or uninstall can fail. Cisco also reports that Network Visibility Module may omit wireless SSID details, ISE Posture discovery may not find the ISE policy server, and ThousandEyes may have reduced access to Wi-Fi signal and noise information.
Cisco says upgrades and uninstalls from versions earlier than 5.1.8.x can still fail even after the later fixes are installed.

DNS-over-HTTPS policy
While VPN, Umbrella Roaming Security, Network Visibility, or Zero Trust Access is active, Secure Client can apply the Windows policy named Configure DNS over HTTP (DoH) name resolution. The policy is located at:
Computer Configuration → Administrative Templates → Network → DNS Client

If a higher-precedence policy, such as a domain Group Policy Object, conflicts with it, Cisco Secure Client does not change that higher-precedence setting.
Do not run two VPN clients at once
Cisco states that the AnyConnect VPN core cannot be active simultaneously with another client VPN. This includes Cisco Secure Client for Universal Windows Platform and third-party VPN clients. Disconnect or remove the other VPN before troubleshooting a Secure Client connection.
What happened to AnyConnect 4.x?
AnyConnect 4.x is no longer the maintained choice for a new Windows 11 deployment. Cisco ended software maintenance for AnyConnect 4.x on March 31, 2024; Cisco does not provide patches or maintenance releases for that branch after that date.
Cisco recommends moving to Cisco Secure Client. Customers with valid AnyConnect or Secure Client term licenses, or perpetual licenses with active support contracts, are eligible to upgrade to the current Secure Client release at no additional charge. Cisco says this also covers customers entitled indirectly through a purchased Cisco service, including most Cisco Umbrella packages.
The documented download process uses Cisco’s website or the Umbrella Dashboard. It does not require a Windows command or command-line download command.

Is Cisco AnyConnect available for Windows 11?
Yes, but the maintained product is now called Cisco Secure Client. Its VPN component is still identified as the Cisco AnyConnect VPN core.

Where is the Cisco AnyConnect Windows 11 32-bit download?
Cisco’s current Secure Client 5.1 package table does not list a separate Windows 11 32-bit installer. It lists a standard Windows package and a separate Windows ARM64 package. Use the standard Windows package for conventional Intel and AMD PCs unless the computer is identified as ARM64.
Which Cisco Secure Client package should I use on an ARM laptop?
Use the package whose filename includes “win-arm64,” such as cisco-secure-client-win-arm64-version-predeploy-k9.zip or the corresponding web-deployment package. Installing the standard Windows package is not the same as installing the ARM64 package.
Is Cisco Secure Client free to download?
The software download generally requires a Cisco entitlement. Umbrella customers with eligible packages can download it through the Umbrella Dashboard. Customers without the required entitlement should contact their Cisco account manager.
Can I download a particular older AnyConnect version?
Yes. Cisco directs users who need a specific AnyConnect or Secure Client version to the Cisco downloads site, where they can search for that version. However, AnyConnect 4.x has been out of software maintenance since March 31, 2024.

Enable Location Services and Let desktop apps access your location under Settings → Privacy & security → Location, then reboot. Cisco documents this as necessary for some Network Access Manager-related installation, upgrade, and uninstall operations.
The Bottom Line
For a current Windows 11 installation, download Cisco Secure Client 5.1.19.1862 from Cisco or the Umbrella Dashboard. Use the standard Windows package on Intel and AMD PCs, and choose the separate win-arm64 package on Windows 11 ARM64 devices. There is no current Cisco download presented as a separate 32-bit AnyConnect installer.
