For a supported Windows installation, Google documents these steps:
- Download the Chrome installation file.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
- If Windows asks whether to run the file, choose Run.
- If Windows asks whether to allow the app to make changes, choose Yes.
- When setup is complete, open Chrome.
These steps describe Google’s standard process; they are not a workaround for Windows 7 compatibility. Reinstalling Chrome on Windows 7 does not restore current releases or updates.

Can I install Chrome offline?
Google describes an option for download problems: download an installer on another computer, transfer it to the target computer, and follow the installer prompts. Google’s current instructions do not confirm that this route provides Chrome 109 for Windows 7, so do not assume it will make Chrome install on that system.
Do not use a command-line workaround or modified installer to bypass the operating-system requirement. The reviewed Google instructions describe downloading and opening an installer, not a command that makes current Chrome compatible with Windows 7.

What happens after installation?
If an older Chrome release is already installed on Windows 7, Google says it may continue to work, but users on these operating systems will not receive further updates. That means using an older release will not provide current Chrome security updates and features.
For current Chrome updates, move to a supported Windows version on eligible hardware or use a supported device.
