To see which production notification failures remain open—and safely reverse a mistaken resolution—build the admin page around failure groups, representative events, and an append-only status history. Operators should be able to filter unresolved groups, search stable identifiers, inspect redacted event detail, and resolve or reopen a group with a reason.
What should the page track?
Keep observations, recurring failures, and status changes as separate records. This lets the list show one actionable item for a recurring problem without losing its event detail or the history of decisions.
- Event: One observed failure, with an event ID, timestamp, deployment or release, environment, exception class, normalized fingerprint, source channel, and a redacted context envelope.
- Failure group: A recurring failure identified by a fingerprint and fingerprint-schema version. Track first-seen and last-seen times, occurrence count, latest deployment, and current triage state.
- State transition: A change to a group’s triage state, recording the group ID, prior state, next state, actor, reason, and time.
Redact sensitive context before persisting it, and keep sensitive or high-cardinality values out of default list fields. The display summary should help an operator recognize a failure, but a raw request-specific message should not define the group.
How should failures be grouped and found?
Group on a stable, normalized failure identity. Raw messages often contain request-specific values, which can split instances of the same underlying defect into separate groups. Normalize volatile values and version the fingerprint rules so a change to grouping logic can be understood later.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Make the main list group-oriented rather than a flat stream of individual events. Prioritize filters for unresolved groups and search across stable fields such as environment, release, exception class, and fingerprint. Keep the list compact for scanning; let operators open a group to inspect its details.
What belongs in the event detail?
Show a bounded sample of representative events, not an unfiltered dump of every payload. Include stable context that helps identify when and where the failure occurred, while redacting sensitive data. The goal is enough evidence to triage without making the list unwieldy or exposing unnecessary payload data.

Sentry’s documented project event endpoint, List a Project’s Error Events, is one implementation reference: GET /api/0/projects/{organization_id_or_slug}/{project_id_or_slug}/events/ lists events for a project. The API documents time-window parameters, cursor pagination, and a sample option. With full=true, it includes the full event body, including the stack trace, and caps the page at 10 events. Documented fields include event ID, creation date, title, tags, platform, group ID, location, and project ID. This endpoint is an event-listing example; it does not by itself establish the group-transition model described here.
How can a mistaken resolution be reversed?
Resolve and reopen at the group level, and record every change as a new transition. Store who acted, why, when, and the previous and next states. If an operator resolves the wrong group, reopening should append a transition rather than erase or overwrite the earlier resolution. That preserves a reconstructable account of what happened.

A mutable current-state field can still support fast filtering, but it should not be the only record of status. Derive or update the current state alongside the append-only transition history, so the interface can show what is open now while retaining the path that led there.

| System and record type | Documented period | Scope and qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Sentry self-hosted event retention | 90 days | Example configuration default, accessed in 2026; the value is read from configuration. The sample notes that longer retention requires more disk space. |
| GitHub workflow-related checks, runs, statuses, artifacts, and generated logs | 90 days default | GitHub Docs accessed 2026. The documented configurable maximum is 90 days for public repositories and 400 days for private repositories. Customized settings apply to new records, not existing ones. |
| GitHub organization audit log | 180 days available | GitHub Docs accessed 2026; the interface initially displays the preceding three months. |
These figures describe the named systems and record types, not a retention promise for other products. Set the policy for your own event data and transition history explicitly; extending event retention can increase storage needs, while insufficient history can leave a team without the evidence needed to investigate a failure or a status change.
