Tensor G5 is the chip inside Google’s Pixel 10 generation, but there is no single score that captures its speed. Google’s CPU and TPU figures are launch claims; benchmark results are measured on particular Pixel phones under particular test conditions. The most useful comparisons keep those distinctions visible.

What is Tensor G5, and what specifications are public?

Google introduced Tensor G5 with the Pixel 10 series. Google says the chip is designed using TSMC’s 3 nm process node; that is Google’s product statement, not an independent inspection of the chip’s fabrication. Google’s Pixel 10 launch announcement also says Tensor G5 enables the latest Gemini Nano model and fully on-device generative AI experiences at launch.

Google has not published a complete technical datasheet in the launch material covered here. Core counts, clock frequencies, cache sizes, memory bandwidth and transistor count therefore should not be treated as established specifications. Geekbench’s device listings characterize the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro at 2.2 GHz, but that database entry is not a complete silicon specification. Geekbench Android device listings

Google’s performance claims

Google says Tensor G5 has an “up to 60% more powerful” TPU and an average CPU that is “34% faster.” These are Google’s comparisons with the previous generation, not independent benchmark results or a promise that every application will improve by those amounts. The wording “up to” and “on average” matters: results depend on the workload and comparison method.

Graphics and AI details

Independent analysis reports that Google moved from Arm Mali graphics to Imagination’s PowerVR architecture, while providing little public GPU detail in its launch announcement. A GPU’s architecture name alone does not establish how a game will run. Android Authority’s Tensor G5 analysis

AI benchmark scores need even more context. Results can vary with the model, backend, precision and Android NNAPI support. A vendor’s TPU comparison is not directly comparable to a third-party test unless the tested workload and execution path are disclosed.

What Geekbench 6 scores have Pixel 10 phones recorded?

Geekbench Browser’s Android device listings show these Geekbench 6 CPU scores at the time the listings were accessed in 2026. They are changing database aggregates, not certified scores from a single controlled test run.

These figures are useful for orientation, not as a controlled head-to-head verdict. Small differences between the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro listings should not be read as proof that one model is faster: database aggregates can reflect different devices, runs and conditions. Why do published Tensor G5 scores differ?

Tom’s Guide reports a Pixel 10 result of 2,345 single-core and 6,581 multi-core in Geekbench 6—higher than the Geekbench Browser device aggregates above. It also reports 80.58 frames per second in its 3DMark Wildlife Unlimited test. Those are Tom’s Guide’s results for its tested phone and setup, rather than universal Tensor G5 scores. The difference illustrates why a score should travel with its source, phone, test version and method. Tom’s Guide’s Pixel 10 benchmark results

In its own comparisons, Tom’s Guide found Pixel 10’s Geekbench 6 results improved over Pixel 9 but remained behind Galaxy S25 and iPhone 16. That comparison is specific to its tests; it does not establish a ranking across every workload or phone configuration.

Notebookcheck’s database also contains multiple Tensor G5 test rows across Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL configurations, with different results. This is another reason not to reduce performance to one supposedly definitive chip score. Notebookcheck Tensor G5 database

How should you compare Tensor G5 with another phone chip?

  • CPU: Compare single-core with single-core and multi-core with multi-core, using the same benchmark version and preferably the same reviewer or database methodology.
  • GPU: Match the exact test—such as 3DMark Wildlife Unlimited—and account for the phone configuration and performance mode. Frame rates from different test variants are not interchangeable.
  • AI: Compare results only when the model, backend, precision and workload are disclosed. A TPU marketing claim and an NNAPI benchmark do not measure the same thing by default.
  • Sustained performance: Look for a repeatable test protocol that reports thermals and performance over time. The sources cited here do not establish one sustained-performance result that can be generalized to all Tensor G5 phones.

Which phones use Tensor G5?

Tensor G5 is used in the Pixel 10 generation, including Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro devices represented in the benchmark listings; Notebookcheck also lists Pixel 10 Pro XL test rows. It is a component of those phones, not a user-replaceable chip upgrade.
