To create a discount code, open your store management area, select Discounts, and click Add discount. You can set a percentage discount for all products or selected categories, then optionally add usage, order-value, and date conditions. The code applies to the cart total but not shipping.
Open the online store settings
You need an active Ecommerce subscription to access store management. The route depends on which AI Builder mode you use. For manual mode, open Websites → Edit website → Online store → Manage store. In agentic mode, open Websites → Edit website, then choose Ecommerce in the top navigation. See the online store settings instructions if you need help finding the area.

Create and configure the discount code
- In store management, open Discounts and click Add discount.
- Enter the discount code customers will use at checkout. You can also enter a discount name for your own reference; this name is not shown to customers.
- Set the discount amount as a percentage, then choose whether it applies to all products or specific product categories.
- If needed, set a maximum number of times the code can be used across the store and a minimum order value.
- Set the dates or period when the code should be active, then save it.
The discount-code instructions describe the available fields. The Discounts area also shows codes that are active, scheduled, or expired, so you can check a code’s status there.

Know what the code discounts
The code applies to the whole cart, excluding shipping costs. It is not a shipping discount. Its product scope can be all products or selected categories, with optional limits on usage, order value, and active dates.
Use a product sale price instead when appropriate
If you want a lower price displayed on one product without asking customers to enter a code at checkout, edit that product instead. Open Products, select the product, and enter the lower amount under Pricing → Discount. The storefront displays the sale price alongside the crossed-out regular price. This is separate from a coupon code; see the product discount instructions.
