You can personalize the Call Poster that other people see when you call them. Apple’s documented Call Poster steps do not change the screen you see when someone calls you. Apple’s incoming-call guide explains call actions such as answering, silencing, declining, and replying by text, but does not give steps for choosing a different incoming-screen theme.
Change the Call Poster other people see
A Call Poster is the image and styling shown to the person you call. Apple says, “When you make a phone call, your call poster appears on the screen of the person you’re calling.” To set one up using the menu labels in Apple’s English-language guide:
- Open the Contacts app.
- Tap your name at the top of the contacts list.
- Tap Shared Name and Photo.
- Choose a photo, Memoji, or emoji, then customize its font and colors.
These are the steps in Apple’s guide; the labels may differ by iOS version or language.
What you can do when a call comes in
Apple’s incoming-call guidance covers answering, silencing, declining, and responding with a text. It refers to the call banner when describing call interactions. That guidance does not provide a procedure for selecting another incoming-call screen theme, so it does not establish that the receiving screen’s design can be customized through a general theme setting.
Call Poster versus incoming-call screen
- Call Poster: the personalized appearance other people see when you place a call.
- Incoming-call interface: the screen or banner you see when someone calls you, with controls for handling the call.
Apple’s iPhone personalization and incoming-call guidance describe these as different things. Feature availability and menu labels can vary across iOS versions; consult Apple’s current iPhone guides for the version installed on your device.
