To email a page from Google Chrome, use Chrome’s sharing menu and choose an email app if one is available. On a computer, go to More > Cast, save, and share; on Android or iPhone/iPad, tap Share. If no email app appears, copy the page address and paste it into a new message.
Email a page from Chrome on a computer
- Open the web page in Chrome.
- Select More > Cast, save, and share.
- Choose a sharing method. If an email app appears, select it to open a message with the page link, then address and send the email. Google describes sharing through other apps but does not guarantee that a particular email app will appear on every computer. See Google Chrome Help: Share pages in Chrome – Computer.
If an email app is not listed
Copy the page URL from Chrome’s address bar, open your email app or website, start a message, and paste the URL into it. This fallback works without an email-specific option in Chrome’s sharing menu.
Share a page by email on Android
- Open the page in Chrome.
- Tap More beside the address bar, then tap Share.
- Choose an email app and complete the message. If the app is not initially shown, tap More to view additional apps. See Google Chrome Help: Share pages in Chrome – Android.
Share a page by email on iPhone or iPad
- Open the page in Chrome.
- Tap Share beside the address bar. You can also touch and hold a link on the page and choose Share.
- Select an email app and finish composing the message. Tap More if the app is not listed at first. See Google Chrome Help: Share pages in Chrome – iPhone and iPad.
Choose the right way to share
| What you want to do | Chrome option |
|---|---|
| Email the page to someone | Choose an available email app in Chrome’s sharing flow, or copy and paste the page URL into a message. |
| Open the page on your own device | On a computer, use Send to your devices and select the destination. This feature may require signing in to the same Google Account on your devices. Google Chrome Help |
| Share in person | Create a QR code for the page and let the other person scan it. The option is documented for computer and mobile. Computer, Android, iPhone and iPad |
| Point someone to selected text | On a computer, select the text, right-click, and choose Copy link to highlight. Paste that link into an email. The option may not work for some selected content. Google Chrome Help: Share pages and highlights in Chrome |
If sharing options look different
The choices in Chrome’s sharing menu depend on the platform and the apps available on the device. If your preferred email app is missing, use the address-bar copy-and-paste method on a computer, or check More in the mobile share sheet for additional apps. Menu labels and availability can change with Chrome updates.
