The A19 Pro is the system-on-chip inside Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro, not a standalone processor with a separate retail specification sheet. Apple documents a 6-core CPU, 6-core GPU with Neural Accelerators, 16-core Neural Engine, and hardware-accelerated ray tracing. Dated Geekbench 7 submissions provide examples of CPU and GPU performance, but each is an individual test result—not a promise of the score or speed you will get from a particular phone.
Apple A19 Pro specifications
Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro technical specifications document the chip configuration as implemented in that phone. They do not amount to a complete die-level specification sheet.
| Component | Apple-documented specification |
|---|---|
| CPU | 6 cores: 2 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores |
| GPU | 6 cores, with Neural Accelerators |
| Neural Engine | 16 cores |
| Graphics feature | Hardware-accelerated ray tracing |
Apple’s page does not establish details such as transistor count, fabrication node, or memory bandwidth. The iPhone’s available storage capacities—256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB—describe device storage, not the A19 Pro’s memory capacity.

These dated Geekbench database records are individual submissions. They are useful examples tied to a particular device, software version, and operating system, not controlled review averages.
#1 Best Overall
- This phone is unlocked and compatible with any carrier of choice on GSM and CDMA networks (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, Cricket, Metro, Tracfone, Mint Mobile, etc.).
- Please check with your carrier to verify compatibility.
- When you receive the phone, insert a SIM card from a compatible carrier. Then, turn it on, connect to Wi-Fi, and follow the on screen prompts to activate service.
- The device does not come with headphones or a SIM card. It does include a generic (Mfi certified) charger and charging cable.
| Test | Score | Device, software, and submission context |
|---|---|---|
| Geekbench 7.1.0 CPU single-core | 3,268 | iPhone 17 Pro; iOS 27.0; uploaded September 19, 2026; individual result |
| Geekbench 7.1.0 CPU multi-core | 8,975 | Same submission and conditions as the single-core result; individual result |
| Geekbench 7.0.0 Metal GPU | 42,048 | iPhone 17 Pro; iOS 26.5.2; uploaded July 24, 2026; individual result |
The CPU and GPU numbers come from different Geekbench versions and separate submissions. Read each as an example for its own test; do not treat them as results from one session or compare unlike tests as if they measured the same thing. Scores can also vary across runs and conditions, so a database entry does not guarantee what another iPhone will record.
What the benchmark scores can—and cannot—tell you
CPU results
Single-core and multi-core scores measure performance in Geekbench’s CPU workloads. The cited run shows one iPhone 17 Pro’s result under the listed conditions. It does not by itself establish how quickly every app will open or how responsive the phone will feel in ordinary use.

GPU result
The Metal score is a result from Geekbench’s graphics-compute test on the iPhone 17 Pro. It is not a game frame-rate figure and cannot predict performance across games, graphics settings, or extended sessions.
Synthetic scores versus sustained use
A benchmark captures a particular workload and test run. Heat, workload duration, software, and device conditions matter when interpreting performance over time. MacRumors cautions that “benchmark results and real-world performance are not completely analogous” in its report on early Geekbench 6 results: its September 2025 coverage. Those early Geekbench 6 results are historical reporting; they are not interchangeable with the Geekbench 7 submissions above.

How to interpret Apple’s performance claims
Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro launch statement, quoted by MacRumors, says that paired with the Apple-designed vapor chamber, A19 Pro enables the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max to deliver “up to 40 percent better sustained performance than the previous generation.” Apple presents gaming, video editing, and running large local language models as use cases for that improvement. The quoted claim does not specify whether the 40 percent figure refers to CPU or GPU performance, so it should not be read as a defined benchmark result or a guarantee for every workload. MacRumors’ report quoting Apple’s September 10, 2025 release also attributes to Apple the claim that the 6-core CPU is the fastest in any smartphone; that is Apple’s stated comparison, not an independently established universal ranking.

The chip is documented in the iPhone 17 Pro. Apple discontinued that model from its online store after announcing the iPhone 18 Pro in September 2026, so current stock and used-device availability depend on retailers and sellers. Check the specific listing and its condition before buying; the A19 Pro is not a processor sold separately to install in another device.
