The Wedding Website Protocol is a simple browser-based workflow for turning scattered wedding details into three useful outputs: a requirements summary, a purchase list, and a step-by-step to-do list. It is a method described by Thanh Pham of Asian Efficiency, not a formal technical standard or established wedding-industry protocol.
What the Wedding Website Protocol does
Wedding websites can collect important information—travel plans, event logistics, registry details—in one place without organizing it around the actions each guest or planner needs to take. The protocol uses an AI assistant that can work with the page to convert those details into structured next steps.
Pham’s core distinction is between asking for advice and delegating execution: “Chatting asks the AI to tell you what to do. Automating asks the AI to do the task for you.” For this workflow, begin with the advice-and-organization part: have AI extract information and propose actions. Do not assume that summarizing a page also means the AI can make purchases, book travel, or complete tasks.

- Open one wedding website. Choose a page with details you need to act on, such as an itinerary, registry, or event instructions.
- Use an AI assistant available in your browser. The Asian Efficiency article names Gemini in Chrome and Copilot in Edge as examples, along with browser-based extensions. Those are examples from the article, not a guarantee that a given assistant can read every page or that the same feature is available to every user.
- Ask for three separate outputs. Request a summary of requirements, a list of purchases, and a step-by-step to-do list. For example: “Summarize the requirements on this wedding website, list any purchases I need to make, and create a step-by-step checklist of what I should do. Separate facts stated on the page from any assumptions.”
- Check each item against the website. Confirm dates, locations, deadlines, travel instructions, and registry details before relying on the checklist. Treat inferred or missing information as something to verify, not as a fact.
- Start with this one site and task. Pham recommends trying the workflow on one website before attempting to automate a larger process.
What to review before letting AI act
There is an important difference between asking an assistant to tell you what to do and giving an agent permission to do it. A page summary or draft checklist does not require the same access as an action that uses your email, purchases something, or changes an account.

- Keep the first attempt narrow. Ask for organization and suggested actions before authorizing consequential actions.
- Review permissions. If an agent asks to connect to email or another account, decide whether that access is necessary for this task.
- Consider the platform’s security and data-handling standards. The source article raises this as a privacy concern; it is not an independent security audit of any product.
- Verify before committing. Check any proposed purchase, booking, message, or schedule change yourself unless you deliberately intend to delegate it and understand the permissions involved.
What the method can—and cannot—establish
The protocol’s useful output is a structured starting point: what the page says you need, what you may need to buy, and what actions to take. Its quality depends on the page content the assistant can access and how accurately it extracts details. The source does not establish that all browser assistants can access all websites, that the named examples currently offer identical capabilities, or that one tool is more private or effective than another.
Pham estimates that the wedding-site example saved “ten to fifteen minutes” of mental effort. That is his personal estimate for the example, not a measured result or a general time-saving promise. The article also discusses broader workflow automation and meeting follow-up; those are adjacent productivity ideas, not necessary parts of the wedding checklist method.
