Meta’s planned data center in Richland Parish, Louisiana, is drawing construction crews to a rural area with limited housing, and one local family has responded with a mobile home park built around that demand. Angel and Bryan Crawford’s company, Parish Line Properties, opened Antley Pines in Delhi in December 2025. According to the operator, most tenants are subcontractors on temporary assignments, and the homes are furnished, four-bedroom units rented at roughly $3,000 a month including utilities.
The housing is real, but the evidence behind it is one operator’s account of a construction boom. It shows how a single park is responding to a short-term workforce. It does not measure the parish’s rental market, and the figures below should be read with that limit in mind.
The project behind the housing demand
Meta’s July 13, 2026 update says the Richland Parish site will reach 5 GW of planned compute capacity, bring more than $50 billion in regional investment, and support over 7,500 construction jobs at peak and 1,000 operational jobs once completed (Meta Data Centers, July 2026). Louisiana Economic Development independently describes the investment as more than $50 billion (Louisiana Economic Development, July 13, 2026).
These numbers describe different phases. The 7,500 figure is a peak construction count, which means a large group of workers arriving for a build that will eventually taper off. The 1,000 operational roles are a separate, later phase. Neither figure is a count of permanent Meta employees.

Antley Pines and Parish Line Properties
Angel Crawford of Delhi and her husband Bryan founded Parish Line Properties in 2024. In the reported profile, the company operates 18 homes in the area, 14 of them classified as workforce housing. Antley Pines is a mobile home park in Delhi, roughly 15 minutes from the site by the article’s description (The New York Ledger, reproducing Business Insider reporting, September 28, 2026).
Crawford told the reporter that workers placed deposits before the homes were in the park, and that many tenants are subcontractors, including electricians. These are her claims. Local property records, occupancy data, and tenant counts were not published alongside the profile.

- Authentic, Real-World Construction Experience: The Pitsco True Scale House Framing Kit delivers a realistic construction model rather than simple assembly play. Students build a true 1:16 scale house model using 485 precision-cut balsa wood pieces, following professional-style house plans and construction methods aligned to real building practices. This architectural framing kit helps learners understand stud framing, scale lumber, and structural design in a way traditional model kits cannot.
- Blueprint Reading & Skill-Building: Designed as a hands-on architecture lesson for ages 14+, this model house framing kit guides students through a structured learning progression. Learners begin by interpreting blueprints, measuring to scale, and understanding architectural drawings before cutting, framing, and assembling the structure. The challenge builds accuracy, focus, and confidence, making it ideal for homeschooling, high school engineering projects, and blueprint reading practice tools.
- Choice-Based Design & Structural Comparison: Unlike most balsa wood house kits, this architectural model making supply allows students to choose between two realistic roof systems: truss or hip. Comparing a truss building kit to a hip roof framing model gives learners firsthand experience with real-world structural approaches used in residential construction, reinforcing problem-solving, interpretation, and decision-making while maintaining authentic construction standards.
- Classroom-Ready & Collaborative by Design: This classroom building kit is designed for individual or paired work, supporting collaboration and communication as students divide tasks, measure materials, and assemble the wooden house frame model together. Instructions are student-facing, with minimal teacher prep required beyond gathering shared tools. Projects can be stored safely during multi-week builds, making it well suited for extended classroom use.
- Career Pathways in Construction & Design: The True Scale House Framing Kit connects hands-on building to real careers in construction, architecture, engineering, drafting, and skilled trades. By applying construction terminology, reading plans, and working with a realistic construction model, students gain exposure to Career and Technical Education (CTE) construction concepts and civil engineering foundations, positioning this as a powerful architecture study kit and vocational training resource.
What tenants are paying for
The homes described are furnished, four-bedroom, two-bath units. Crawford puts the average rent at about $3,000 a month with utilities included. She compares that with an estimate that an unfurnished house without utilities in the same area might previously have rented for $1,200 to $1,500, though she does not give a date for that earlier figure.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Antley Pines homes described in the profile | About $3,000 a month, operator’s average | Included | Yes | Crawford’s account, September 2026 |
| Unfurnished house in the same area, earlier | $1,200 to $1,500 a month, Crawford’s estimate | Not included | No | Estimate; date not stated |
These figures are not like-for-like and not parish-wide averages. The first covers one operator’s furnished units with utilities; the second is an undated estimate for a different kind of housing. Neither should be used as a rent trend. Each home sits on one-fourth of an acre, and Crawford says the units could later be sold individually or rented out.
Why workers want to live close to the site
Proximity matters because the work schedule is long and rural distances are slow. Crawford says workers commonly work six to seven days a week and more than 12 hours a day. In her description, they leave around 4:30 a.m. and return around 7 p.m. That is her account of the schedule, not a company-wide policy. The article also notes that 30 miles on rural roads can take much longer than the same distance in a city.
Lease length
Workers often ask about month-to-month leases because they do not know how long their assignments will last. Crawford put it this way: “Most of them don’t know how long they’re going to be here. They hope they’re going to be here long-term, but in construction, they don’t get told until it’s done.” For a landlord, that uncertainty is the main planning problem, because the tenant base can change as crews move between phases.

Connectivity
Internet access is a practical concern in furnished housing. A syndicated reproduction of the profile reports that Crawford hears the question “What’s the WiFi password?” as tenants move in, and that some workers want to make video calls to family (Jingletree, reproducing the same reporting). This detail appears only in that reproduction, so treat it as a reported observation rather than a verified finding.
What happens after construction
Crawford says the units could remain useful after Meta’s construction activity declines, either as rentals or as properties for sale. This is her outlook, not a forecast. The sources do not provide occupancy projections for the operational phase.

Crawford also says the business will not raise rents for long-term local tenants and will seek separate properties for workforce lodging. That is her stated policy. No independent audit of affordability outcomes has been published.

Crawford describes mixed reactions in the community. Some residents see opportunity, while others oppose the project. She also says local young people who might once have worked offshore are now taking construction jobs closer to home. These are her observations, not a representative survey.
The training commitments are real but narrow. Meta’s update describes programs with Louisiana Delta Community College and the University of Louisiana at Monroe, and Louisiana Economic Development says the state is one of four pilot locations for America’s Workforce Academy. Training programs do not show how many workers will come from local housing or how many will stay after construction.

- Not established: parish-wide rent levels or growth, vacancy rates, displacement, affordable-unit counts, or post-construction demand.
- Unverified: the $53,000 median household income for Richland Parish in 2024 that appears in the profile. The original statistical source was not identified, so it should not be cited as an official figure.

How to compare furnished housing near a job site
If you are comparing lodging options in a development area like this one, these checks matter more than the headline rent:
- Distance and actual drive time at your shift hours, not the map distance. Rural roads can add substantial time.
- Whether the unit is furnished, and what that means in practice (beds, kitchen, laundry).
- Which utilities are included, and whether internet service is provided and at what speed.
- Bedroom count and occupancy rules, especially for shared housing.
- Lease length: whether month-to-month terms are available, and what notice is required.
- The date on any quoted rent, and whether the comparison unit is similar in size, furnishing and utilities.
For owners equipping furnished rentals, reliable Wi-Fi is a practical item to plan for because connectivity is a common tenant request. The profile does not recommend specific equipment, and it does not say tenants should supply their own.
