Company of Heroes 3’s 2.5.0 update added two multiplayer maps, a refreshed lobby, and gameplay and balance changes. Alongside it, Relic launched Final Stand—a separate PC/Steam wave-defense experience for solo play or two-player co-op. Final Stand is not a new mode inside the main game’s multiplayer.
What came in the Company of Heroes 3 2.5.0 update?
Update 2.5.0 bundled multiplayer and gameplay changes for the main game with the launch of Final Stand. The official notes described the first balance work as focused on massed infantry; work on vehicle-massing balance was intended for a later update.

Two new multiplayer maps
- Butcher & Bolt: a 1v1 map.
- Across the Savio: a 3v3 map.
Lobby and gameplay changes
The refreshed multiplayer lobby lets players select a Battlegroup without leaving the lobby and restrict which Battlegroups AI opponents may choose. The update also changed pathing, infantry combat, suppression, and faction balance. The official notes group these under gameplay and balance improvements rather than presenting 2.5.0 as a new standalone multiplayer mode.
What is Company of Heroes 3: Final Stand?
Final Stand is a standalone wave-defense experience for PC/Steam, released alongside update 2.5.0. Players build layered defenses and face escalating enemy waves, with dynamic battlefield events and boss encounters. It draws enemies from Wehrmacht, US Forces, British Forces, and Deutsches Afrikakorps, and includes multiple Battlegrounds plus an Endless Mode.

The launch announcement lists 12 waves, 36 boss units, 18 dynamic events, and eight difficulty levels. These are the product’s published feature counts, not independent performance or quality assessments. Can you play Final Stand solo?
Yes. The launch FAQ specifies single-player and two-player co-op. A co-op lobby browser was added in the July 30, 2026 post-launch update, making it easier to find or join co-op sessions.

Later post-launch updates also added Steam Cloud support for Final Stand perk saves and addressed progression, gameplay, stability, and exploit issues. The September 16, 2026 notes said a bug that allowed Final Stand perks to be brought into multiplayer had been fixed.

Is Final Stand included in Company of Heroes 3?
No. The July 29, 2026 launch announcement described Final Stand as a standalone PC/Steam product that launched alongside the main game’s 2.5.0 update. The update and the mode arrived at the same time, but they are separate things: 2.5.0 changes the main game, while Final Stand is a separately listed wave-defense experience.

The launch announcement mentioned a 10% discount and an additional 20% discount for existing Company of Heroes 3 owners. Those were time-limited launch offers and do not establish today’s price or discount availability.

As of October 9, 2026, the latest official announcement scheduled update 3.0 for November 5, 2026. Its Final Stand additions were announced plans, not released features at that date:
- A three-player mode compatible with all Battlegrounds.
- The Dam Busters Battleground.
- 13 new player units, 14 new abilities, 35 new passive technologies, and eight new enemy units.
These plans are distinct from the content already delivered in 2.5.0 and the subsequent hot fixes.
