Announced in 2018, the agreement was intended to expand ST’s RF power portfolio and application coverage; its financial and other specific terms were not disclosed.
What did STMicroelectronics license?
STMicroelectronics licensed RF power technology based on laterally diffused metal oxide semiconductor (LDMOS), along with related intellectual property, from Innogration Technologies. EE Times reported the license on February 16, 2018, describing Innogration as a Chinese company specializing in RF power semiconductor devices, modules, and subsystem assemblies. EE Times
ST’s agreement announcement, distributed on March 2, 2018, characterized the arrangement as a license and cooperation agreement. ST said it would broaden the company’s coverage of the RF power market. STMicroelectronics announcement via PR Times
What is LDMOS used for?
LDMOS is a semiconductor technology used to make RF power devices. ST described its combination of a short conduction channel and high breakdown voltage as useful in RF power amplifiers. Such amplifiers are used in wireless base stations and commercial or industrial systems. STMicroelectronics announcement via PR Times

ST’s announcement identified potential application areas beyond cellular base stations, including:
- Wireless infrastructure
- Industrial, scientific, and medical equipment
- Avionics
- Radar
- Wireless equipment outside cellular communications
These were application areas named in the announcement, not a list of specific products launched under the agreement.

- Three LEDs, Two Push-buttons
- Support of wide choice of Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) including IAR, ARM Keil, GCC-based IDEs
Why did ST make the agreement?
ST said the license would expand its LDMOS product development and extend the range of RF power applications it could address. The deal was therefore a business-to-business technology and intellectual-property agreement, not an announcement of a consumer chip or device. EE Times also reported that the companies expected their R&D teams to work closely and co-develop products for RF power market segments. EE Times
What is known about Innogration?
Innogration Technologies was based in Suzhou and focused on RF power semiconductor devices, modules, and subsystem assemblies, according to EE Times’ contemporaneous report. That article described the company as a startup and said its founder, Gordon Ma, had previously worked at Freescale and Infineon and held patents in technology ST wanted access to. These are details reported in 2018, not a current profile of the company or its leadership. EE Times

Were the deal’s price and terms disclosed?
No. ChosunBiz reported on March 13, 2018, that the agreement’s specific contents had not been disclosed. The available announcement-era coverage does not establish a price, royalty structure, duration, exclusivity, or detailed territorial rights. ChosunBiz
The reporting described cooperation and anticipated co-development, but does not verify subsequent product launches or whether the collaboration continued. Nor does the 2018 announcement establish the agreement’s current status.
