Google’s Workspace Status Dashboard showed “No incidents” when it was last updated at 02:54 UTC on October 8, 2026. That timestamp does not establish whether Gmail or other Google services were available later that day. Check the live dashboard for the latest status before treating an outage report as current.
Is Gmail down right now?
The official status result available for this report listed “No incidents” and showed a last-updated time of October 8, 2026, 02:54 UTC. Because service status can change quickly, that earlier update cannot confirm whether Gmail is down now. The dashboard lists Gmail alongside Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Meet, and other Workspace services.
Open the Google Workspace Status Dashboard and check its current entries. If Google lists an incident, select it for details such as the affected services and an estimated resolution time. When Google resolves an incident, look for its final update.
How to check Google Drive, Docs, Meet and other services
- Go to the Workspace Status Dashboard.
- Find Gmail, Drive, Docs, Meet, or the specific service you cannot access. Review the status and the time of the latest update.
- If an incident is listed, open it to read Google’s description, updates, and any estimated resolution time.
- If no incident is listed but the problem continues, contact Google support about the issue.
What to do if the dashboard shows no incident
A “No incidents” status means the dashboard did not report a broad service incident at the time shown; it does not identify why one person is having trouble. The information available here does not establish a local cause, so the headline alone is not enough to diagnose a device or network problem. For an issue that is not listed on the dashboard, Google advises users to contact support.

Get outage alerts without relying on Gmail
Google recommends subscribing to the Workspace Status Dashboard’s RSS feed for faster service alerts. RSS can deliver updates through a feed reader, so you do not have to depend on Gmail being available to receive an outage notification. Google notes that alerts may be delayed when Gmail itself is interrupted.
A previous Google multi-service incident
Google’s incident history records a separate event that began May 30, 2026, at 20:28 PDT and lasted 56 minutes. The entry named Google Voice, Meet, Drive, Chat, Calendar, Gmail, and Docs, and said customers could experience loading issues, intermittent high latency, or errors. That historical incident does not establish the cause or date of the outage suggested by this headline.
