To connect AirPods to an Amazon Fire Tablet, put the AirPods into Bluetooth pairing mode, then open Settings > Connected Devices > Pair a new device on the tablet and select the AirPods. Menu names can vary by Fire Tablet generation and Fire OS version. AirPods work as Bluetooth headphones with non-Apple devices, but Siri is unavailable.
Pair AirPods with a Fire Tablet

On the Fire Tablet, open Settings > Connected Devices and turn Bluetooth on. Amazon staff guidance uses Pair a new device to discover Bluetooth earbuds. If your tablet shows different labels, look in Settings for Bluetooth or Connected Devices and choose the option to add or pair a device.

Put your AirPods into pairing mode using the controls for your model:

AirPods 1, 2, or 3; AirPods Pro 1 or 2: Put the AirPods in their case and open the lid. Hold the setup button on the back for about five seconds, or until the status light flashes white.

AirPods 4 or AirPods Pro 3: Open the case with the AirPods inside and hold it near the tablet. Double-tap the front of the case until the status light flashes white.

AirPods Max: Hold the listening mode button for about five seconds, or until the status light flashes white.

On the tablet, tap Pair a new device. Select your AirPods when they appear in the Bluetooth list and follow any on-screen prompt.

Play a video or other audio to check that sound comes through the AirPods. If you paired them before, select them from the tablet’s previously connected devices if needed.

Amazon staff guidance describes Bluetooth earbud pairing on Fire Tablets, including the Fire HD 10’s support for A2DP-compatible stereo headphones. The exact menus and Bluetooth capabilities may differ across tablet models.
What works when AirPods are connected?
Apple Support says, “You can use AirPods as a Bluetooth® headset with a non-Apple device.” That supports ordinary Bluetooth listening and headset use, but it does not mean every Apple feature carries over. Apple specifically says Siri cannot be used with AirPods on a non-Apple device. The available guidance does not establish that every microphone feature or automatic switching between Apple devices works with a Fire Tablet.

If the Fire Tablet won’t find your AirPods

AirPods are missing from the list: Check that Bluetooth is on and that the AirPods are in pairing mode; the pairing control depends on the AirPods model. Toggle Bluetooth off and back on on the tablet, then try discovery again.

A saved pairing will not reconnect: In the tablet’s Bluetooth settings, forget or remove the saved headset, restart the tablet, then return to Bluetooth settings and pair again. If the problem continues, restart both the tablet and AirPods and retry.

Settings labels do not match: Fire Tablet menus vary by generation and software version. Look in Settings for Bluetooth or Connected Devices and use the visible control to add or pair a device.
