GeForce NOW Free is ad-supported and comes with longer queues and basic cloud-gaming rigs; the paid Performance and Ultimate plans offer faster access and higher performance ceilings. Performance is advertised for up to 1440p at 60 FPS. Ultimate provides access to RTX 5080-class rigs and advertises up to 5K at 120 FPS or, in a specified 1080p competitive mode, 360 FPS. Both paid plans currently include 100 hours of monthly premium playtime, with up to 15 unused hours eligible to roll over. Those figures are ceilings and plan terms, not guarantees of what every player will get.

How GeForce NOW Free, Performance, and Ultimate compare

The table uses NVIDIA plan information reviewed October 8, 2026. The prices are from NVIDIA’s US marketplace; prices and offers differ by region and may change.

Prices are from NVIDIA’s US marketplace; plan features and playtime are described on NVIDIA’s membership page and in its GeForce NOW FAQ. The FAQ cited here is an en-GB page, so check your local NVIDIA site for region-specific terms and features.

What Free gives you—and what the ads and queues mean

Free can be a practical way to try cloud gaming without paying for a membership. Its trade-offs are ads before sessions, longer expected waits, and access to basic rigs whose performance can vary with the game and server availability. NVIDIA’s Membership Terms say, “Members with a free membership can expect to experience advertising before gaming sessions and a longer queue for access.” The terms do not establish a specific ad duration or frequency.

  • Up to 4K HDR with Dolby Vision delivers captivating, true-to-life detail[4]; and you can connect speakers that support Dolby Atmos for more immersive 3D sound

Free is best suited to players who can tolerate waiting and are comfortable with the plan’s lower or variable performance. Session limits apply, and after a session ends you may need to rejoin a queue, subject to the terms.

What changes with a paid plan

Performance: a lower-cost step up

Performance is the paid tier to consider if you want faster access than Free and a stated ceiling of up to 1440p at 60 FPS. It also adds supported-game ray tracing, saved graphics settings, selected mods, and Install-to-Play. In NVIDIA’s US marketplace listing reviewed October 8, 2026, it cost $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year; those are US-listed prices, not a worldwide tariff.

Ultimate: the highest advertised performance

Ultimate targets players who can make use of higher resolutions, refresh rates, or RTX 5080-class cloud rigs. NVIDIA advertises up to 5K at 120 FPS and up to 360 FPS in a 1080p competitive mode. These are mode-dependent maximums, not promises for every game, device, or connection. Ultimate also includes plan-specific RTX 50-Series features. DLSS 5 appears on NVIDIA’s current US membership page; feature availability may differ by region. The US marketplace listing reviewed October 8, 2026, showed $19.99 per month or $199.99 per year.

The 100-hour monthly limit matters on both paid plans

NVIDIA’s current FAQ lists 100 hours of monthly premium playtime for both Performance and Ultimate. Up to 15 unused hours may roll over, subject to the plan terms. Paid does not mean unlimited premium play: if you expect to play more than the included allowance, check NVIDIA’s current terms for what happens after the limit and the available extra-hour options before choosing a plan.

GeForce NOW streams supported games; it does not unlock every PC game

A membership gives you access to cloud gaming for supported titles you own or can access through linked stores—it is not a subscription that grants a universal library of PC games. NVIDIA lists Steam, Epic, GOG, PC Game Pass, and Ubisoft Connect as examples of connected stores. Check that a game is supported and that you can access it through a linked store before choosing a plan.

Which plan should you choose?

  • Choose Free to try the service if you can accept ads, longer queues, basic rigs, and session limits.
  • Consider Performance for regular play if faster access and the advertised 1440p/60 FPS ceiling suit your screen and games, and the 100-hour allowance fits your habits.
  • Consider Ultimate for higher-performance targets if your device, display, connection, and supported games can take advantage of its RTX 5080-class rigs and higher advertised ceilings.

Ultimate’s higher ceilings only help when the rest of your setup and the game’s available mode can use them. NVIDIA says actual resolution and frame rate depend on the device, network quality, selected game, membership, and GPU; rig availability also depends on region and capacity. These recommendations follow NVIDIA’s published plan descriptions, not independent testing.

Check your connection and local availability before paying

NVIDIA recommends at least 25 Mbps for Full HD at 60 FPS and recommends wired Ethernet or a 5 GHz wireless router. Higher-resolution and higher-frame-rate modes have higher bandwidth recommendations. These are connection recommendations, not guarantees of smooth play: device and network conditions can affect actual performance. NVIDIA’s FAQ and Membership Terms explain the relevant conditions.

Before subscribing, check the plan page for your country for current prices, available features, playtime terms, and service availability. NVIDIA’s published limits and performance figures can change, and the US-listed prices and US-page feature details above should not be treated as universal.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
