To stop calls from interrupting you without switching off your connection, turn on Do Not Disturb: open Control Center, tap Focus, then tap Do Not Disturb. Calls are silenced, while cellular data or Wi-Fi can remain available for internet use and iMessage.
This silences call alerts; it does not disable cellular voice service or guarantee that callers cannot reach your iPhone.

Silence calls with Do Not Disturb
- Open Control Center. The gesture for opening it depends on your iPhone model.
- Tap Focus.
- Tap Do Not Disturb.
To customize interruptions, go to Settings > Focus > Do Not Disturb. Review the allowed people and apps, and set a schedule if you want Do Not Disturb to turn on automatically. Menu names and paths can vary by iOS version. See Apple’s guide to using Focus on iPhone.
Keep cellular data or Wi-Fi enabled for the connection you want to use. iMessage can send over either Wi-Fi or cellular service, according to Apple’s iMessage guide.

Choose the right setting for the result you want

If you mean preventing calls from reaching the iPhone
Do Not Disturb changes whether calls interrupt you; it does not block callers or switch off cellular voice. Apple’s reviewed iPhone guidance does not establish a universal setting that disables only cellular voice while preserving all data and iMessage behavior. Carrier options and availability can vary.
Wi-Fi Calling is another path for ordinary calls when supported and enabled. Depending on carrier support and conditions, calls may use Wi-Fi and can switch to the carrier’s cellular network if Wi-Fi is lost and cellular service is available. Check your carrier’s options if you need calls not to reach the phone; the outcome depends on that carrier and your setup. See Apple’s Wi-Fi Calling information.

Keep data and iMessage available
Cellular voice and Cellular Data are distinct. If you turn off Cellular Data, data services use Wi-Fi only; iMessage can still send over Wi-Fi if the iPhone is connected to it. If you want mobile data, leave Cellular Data on. Apple explains this distinction in its guidance on using cellular data on iPhone.
After an emergency call, some call-blocking or call-silencing features may be disabled briefly so emergency services can call back. See Apple’s emergency-call guidance.
