To install several programs on a Windows PC in one go, use WinGet: its command-line install accepts multiple package IDs and processes them in sequence. For an app list you want to reuse, export and import a JSON list; if you prefer choosing apps graphically, consider Ninite. The right option depends on your app list, comfort with commands, and whether you need to repeat the setup later.
Choose a method based on how you want to install apps

Install a one-time batch with WinGet
Open PowerShell or Command Prompt and enter a command with the package IDs you want. Microsoft’s example installs Visual Studio Code, PowerShell, and Git:
winget install Microsoft.VisualStudioCode Microsoft.PowerShell Git.Git

WinGet processes the requested packages one at a time; one command does not mean that all installers run simultaneously. Each package still needs to be available from a configured source, and an unavailable or failed package is not guaranteed to install just because it is included in the batch. Microsoft’s install command documentation explains multi-package installation.
Find and verify package IDs first
If you are unsure of an ID, search for the app and inspect its package details before installing:

winget search <app-name>to find matching packages. - Run
winget show <package-id>to inspect the package and installer details. - When several results are similar, use the exact package ID and an exact-match option; specify a source if duplicate entries need to be distinguished.
- Run the install command with the IDs you verified.
These checks help avoid selecting a similarly named package or an unintended source. Some installers request administrator elevation. Only approve a prompt when you trust the package and the permission is appropriate; declining a required elevation prompt can make that installation fail. Save an app list for another PC with WinGet
Use WinGet export to create a JSON file of recognized installed apps, then review it and use WinGet import on the destination PC. This is useful when setting up a replacement or reinstalled computer, or sharing a repeatable package list.

- On the PC with the apps you want to reproduce, run
winget export -o apps.json. - Review
apps.jsonand remove entries you do not want to reinstall. - Move the reviewed file to the destination PC.
- On that PC, run
winget import -i apps.json.
Export attempts to match installed apps to manifests in the configured package sources. If an app cannot be matched, WinGet may report a warning; review the result rather than assuming every installed program was captured. Microsoft’s export documentation covers the list workflow.
Use WinGet Configuration for a fuller setup
If setting up a development environment or another repeatable workstation, WinGet Configuration can apply packages alongside other Windows settings. That makes it broader than an app-only list, and a configuration may change more than the installed software.

Before applying one, read its contents and verify that its resources come from sources you trust. Microsoft’s configuration guidance specifically advises reviewing the file and checking its resources before running it.

Use Chocolatey for another command-line option
Chocolatey’s install command accepts multiple package arguments. For example, the command structure is choco install package1 package2, using package names available to Chocolatey. Take care with shared options: Chocolatey documents that an option such as a version setting can apply to every package passed in that command. Check the package names and options before running it.
