Its main strengths on paper are a Primary RGB Tandem OLED panel, Panasonic’s HCX Pro AI Processor MK II, a redesigned 360-degree speaker system, Fire TV, and gaming support up to 4K at 144Hz. Independent reviewers report strong brightness and low input lag, but those results depend on picture mode and signal settings. The available evidence does not establish a current price or a complete head-to-head winner over the LG G5, so whether the Z95B is worth buying depends on its live price, the picture modes you use, and how much you value its built-in sound and feature mix.
What is the Panasonic Z95B?
The Z95B is Panasonic’s flagship North American OLED series for 2025. Panasonic identifies a Primary RGB Tandem OLED panel, ThermalFlow cooling, and the HCX Pro AI Processor MK II as key parts of the design. Fire TV is the built-in smart-TV platform. The series includes models TV-55Z95BP, TV-65Z95BP, and TV-77Z95BP. Panasonic’s product series page lists the three sizes.
Panasonic says the panel’s four-layer emission structure improves light efficiency by 40 percent. That figure is a manufacturer claim, not an independent measurement. In its January 7, 2025 announcement, Panasonic describes the structure as refining light wavelengths to increase color purity and light efficiency.
How bright is the Z95B?
TechRadar reports recording a brightness reading as high as 2,107 nits, but that is not a universal or sustained brightness figure. The outlet notes that several picture presets—including Filmmaker Mode—are considerably more limited. If you care about brightness for a particular use, compare the modes you actually plan to watch rather than treating the highest reported reading as representative of every setting. See TechRadar’s Z95B review for its test context.

That distinction matters because a TV’s peak measurement and its everyday presentation are not the same thing. A bright mode may suit a sunlit room, while a more restrained preset may be preferable for a dark-room film. The available measurements do not establish how every preset performs in every room or for every kind of content.
Is the Z95B good for gaming?
The Z95B supports refresh rates up to 144Hz, but the owners manual specifies 4K/144Hz and variable refresh rate (VRR) on HDMI inputs 1 and 2. HDMI 2 is also the eARC port. The manual covers all three North American BP models: Panasonic Z95B owners manual.

Input-lag results vary with signal and settings. AVForums reports 12.6ms at 4K/60Hz, 8.6ms after activating 60Hz refresh in the game menu, and 4.8ms with 120Hz signals. These are AVForums’ test results, not a single guaranteed figure for every mode or source. RTINGS, which bought and tested the 65-inch model, describes input lag in game mode as very low and considers its findings valid for the 55- and 77-inch versions as well. Read the full results at AVForums and RTINGS.
Port placement and setup
For a 4K/144Hz gaming PC or console, connect it to HDMI 1 or HDMI 2; those are the inputs Panasonic specifies for 4K/144Hz and VRR. If you use eARC for a soundbar or receiver, HDMI 2 serves that purpose too, so plan around the fact that this is the same port. Check that your source is configured to output the resolution and refresh rate you want. A suitable high-bandwidth HDMI cable may be relevant, but the cited documentation does not verify a specific cable model or make a particular upgrade a requirement.

Which Z95B size should you buy?
| Model | Listed size | Measured diagonal in manual |
|---|---|---|
| TV-55Z95BP | 55 inches | 54.6 inches |
| TV-65Z95BP | 65 inches | 64.5 inches |
| TV-77Z95BP | 77 inches | 76.6 inches |
Those are the listed sizes and measured diagonals in Panasonic’s 65-inch model specifications and owners manual. Choose based on your viewing distance, room layout, and budget; Panasonic’s cited information does not provide a viewing-distance recommendation. Check the model suffix before buying, since these model numbers identify the North American BP versions.

The evidence available here is not enough to declare an overall winner or make a current value comparison. A fair decision should compare the actual prices for the sizes you are considering and weigh the features that matter to your setup:

- Picture: Compare brightness in the modes you will use, along with color and picture accuracy. Do not equate a reviewer’s highest brightness reading with the TV’s performance in every preset.
- Gaming: Compare refresh-rate support and input lag under comparable signal and settings conditions.
- Connections: Check how many high-bandwidth HDMI inputs each set offers and where eARC is assigned. On the Z95B, HDMI 1 and 2 support 4K/144Hz and VRR, and HDMI 2 also carries eARC.
- Sound: Decide whether the Z95B’s built-in 360-degree system suits your room or whether you intend to use separate audio equipment.
- Smart-TV platform: Consider whether you prefer Fire TV or the competing set’s platform and apps.
- Size and price: Compare like-for-like screen sizes at the prices available to you; a feature advantage may not justify a large price difference for your use.
Panasonic describes the Z95B’s redesigned 360-degree audio system as including line-array, side, and up-firing speakers. That design may reduce the need for separate speakers for some viewers, but the cited information does not provide a controlled comparison against a soundbar or the LG G5. Current prices and a complete comparative test are not established here.
Is the Panasonic Z95B worth buying?
The Z95B is a strong candidate if you want a high-end OLED with 4K/144Hz and VRR support on two HDMI inputs, a built-in Fire TV platform, and Panasonic’s more ambitious integrated audio design. The reviewer measurements also point to high peak brightness in at least one test context and low gaming input lag at higher refresh rates.

It is harder to recommend without qualification if your decision depends on performance in a specific picture preset, a direct LG G5 comparison, or a particular price. The brightness and input-lag results cited above are mode- and signal-dependent, and the evidence here does not verify live retail pricing. Compare current offers for the same size, then match the relevant independent test conditions to your viewing and gaming habits before deciding.
