If Password is missing under Windows Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options, first check whether you use a Microsoft account or a local account, then check whether Windows Hello-only sign-in is enabled. The usual password-change route is Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options > Password > Change; recovery steps differ by account type.
Check whether Windows Hello-only sign-in is enabled
For a Microsoft account, Windows can be configured to allow only Windows Hello sign-in. Open Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options > Additional settings and look for For improved security, only allow Windows Hello sign-in for Microsoft accounts on this device.
If that setting is on, Microsoft says the next sign-in will offer Windows Hello face, fingerprint, or PIN rather than a password. This is one possible explanation for an unavailable password sign-in method; Microsoft does not say it accounts for every case where the Password section is missing from Settings. Microsoft’s Go passwordless in Windows guidance describes this setting.
Change a password you still know
For either a Microsoft account or a local Windows account, Microsoft documents this Settings path when the Password option is available:

Local account
At the Windows sign-in screen, select Reset password and answer the security questions configured when the local account was created. If you made a password reset disk beforehand, you can use that instead. Microsoft describes these methods in its local account password recovery instructions.

If another administrator account is already available on the PC, that administrator can reset the local account password through Computer Management > Local Users and Groups > Users: right-click the affected account and select Set Password. Microsoft says that if no administrator account is available for this task, you will need to reset the Windows device.

Confirm the account type and inspect the Windows Hello-only setting first. The Microsoft guidance cited here does not establish one cause for every missing Password option, and it cannot identify what is configured on a particular PC. If the device is managed by an organization or has other account restrictions, its configuration may need to be checked by the person or IT team that manages it.
