MisakaX v2.0 added support for the iOS 18.0 release candidate (RC), along with CameraControl, Always-on Display (AoD) Vibrancy, and two Dynamic Island options. Those are release-specific claims: they do not establish support for every later iOS build, device, or feature combination.
What MisakaX v2.0 added
The MisakaX v2.0 release notes name three changes: support for iOS 18.0 RC, CameraControl support (listed as 18.0 RC+), and AoD Vibrancy. They also list Dynamic Island options 2622 and 2868. These details are tied to the v2.0 release notes, rather than a promise that each option works on every device. MisakaX v2.0 release notes

A contemporaneous iDownloadBlog report published September 10, 2024 also identified the update as MisakaX v2.0 with iOS 18.0 RC support and new features.
Does MisakaX v2.0 work on iOS 18.0 RC?
The v2.0 notes explicitly say it supports iOS 18.0 RC. That answers the release-candidate question, but it should not be read as confirmation for the final iOS 18.0 release, iOS 18.0.1, or another beta. Check the notes for the exact MisakaX release and iOS build you plan to use.

- Tested for battery health and guaranteed to have a minimum battery capacity of 80%.
The project’s later release history is separate: v2.2 notes list iOS 18.0 RC and final iOS 18.0, as well as iOS 18.1 beta 4. They also describe Apple Intelligence for devices on 18.1 or later. Those later claims do not retroactively broaden v2.0’s stated compatibility. MisakaX release history
What MisakaX is—and what compatibility means
MisakaX is an iOS and iPadOS customization tool. Its README lists feature areas including Dynamic Island, Always-on Display, Stage Manager, CameraControl, and Apple Pencil. A feature appearing in that list is not proof that it is available on every device or works with every operating-system build. The available project materials do not provide a complete verified device-by-device compatibility matrix or independent feature test results. MisakaX README

Compatibility depends on the specific MisakaX release, iOS or iPadOS build, device model, and feature. The host computer and setup steps matter too. Treat a claim about one release-candidate build as exactly that—not as a blanket compatibility guarantee.
Important risk: back up before using MisakaX
MisakaX modifies MobileGestalt, and the maintainers warn this can cause a bootloop. Their instruction is: “Use this tool at your own risk. There is a chance you may bootloop, so create a backup before using.” The project does not quantify the likelihood. A backup is a precaution, not a guarantee against a bootloop. Setup requirements depend on your computer
The project README says users need to extract their MobileGestalt file and describes a Shortcut-based extraction route. It also documents different host-specific requirements:
- Windows: Install iTunes; the README advises against using the Microsoft Store version.
- macOS: The README provides a command to address a permission issue. Follow the project’s documented instructions for the relevant error rather than applying an unverified workaround.
Because the tool changes device data, make a device backup before proceeding and follow the instructions for your specific host and MisakaX release. Setup details in the MisakaX README

A reported Always-on Display issue is device-specific evidence
On September 9, 2024, a user reported that Always-on Display did not work on their iPhone 15 running iOS 18.0 RC. The issue is an individual report; it does not establish that AoD fails generally, identify a maintainer-confirmed cause, or document a confirmed fix. MisakaX issue #96

How to assess a MisakaX compatibility claim
- Match the exact MisakaX version and release notes.
- Match the precise iOS or iPadOS build, distinguishing an RC from a final release or beta.
- Check the device model and the particular feature you want to enable.
- Confirm the host computer’s setup prerequisites in the README.
- Back up the device and decide whether you accept the project’s stated bootloop risk.
