It makes the most sense for light desktop, kiosk, or embedded work where low noise and a small footprint matter more than sustained processor speed. The review findings below apply to the tested N100 configuration; MeLE also lists N150 versions, which should be assessed separately.
What this review covers
The hands-on review by Ian W Morrison at Liliputing tested a Quieter 4C with an Intel N100, 16GB of RAM, 256GB of eMMC storage, and an additional 256GB PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSD. It ran Windows 11 Pro 23H2 and Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS. Those details describe the review unit, not every Quieter 4C currently sold.
MeLE’s product page now describes a product family with N100 and N150 processor options and different memory, storage, and operating-system configurations. Availability varies by listing and region, so check the exact SKU before comparing prices or assuming a feature is included.
How small is the Quieter 4C?
Liliputing measured the reviewed unit at 131 × 81 × 18.3 mm (5.2 × 3.2 × 0.7 in). Its compact rectangular enclosure has a metal base plate and a grooved plastic top, which allows the Wi-Fi antennas to receive a signal. There is no fan; the system relies on passive cooling.

The small case still accommodates a useful selection of connections. The reviewed configuration has:
- Two USB 3.2 Type-A ports: one rated at 5Gbps and one at 10Gbps, plus one USB 2.0 Type-A port.

What can you upgrade?
On the reviewed design, RAM and eMMC storage are soldered to the board and cannot be upgraded. That makes the capacity selected at purchase important, especially if you expect to keep many applications or files on the built-in drive.

An accessible full-size M.2 2280 slot offers a way to add storage: the Liliputing reviewer installed Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS on an NVMe drive while Windows 11 Pro remained on the eMMC. CNX Software describes the socket as SATA III/PCIe Gen3 x4 in its June 2025 report. Before buying a drive, confirm the slot and interface for your precise machine and the drive you intend to use.

The N100 is a four-core processor without hyperthreading. The Liliputing review lists a maximum turbo frequency of 3.40GHz, a 6W TDP, and Intel UHD Graphics with 24 execution units and a maximum dynamic frequency of 750MHz. These are processor specifications, not a guarantee of how quickly the complete computer will perform a particular task.
Cooling is the central compromise. On the tested sample, default power limits were PL1 8W and PL2 10W. Morrison says MeLE chose these limits to keep the case cooler; raising them can improve performance, but also raises the heat the passively cooled enclosure must dissipate. The review’s comparison system used the same N100 but active cooling and higher limits—PL1 15W and PL2 25W—so it is not a like-for-like measure of the Quieter 4C against an otherwise identical computer.

CNX Software’s June 2025 account also reported temperatures above 70°C after manually raising power limits. That is an observation from its report, not a universal temperature for every unit, setting, or workload. The practical point is that silent operation does not mean the case stays cool under heavier sustained work.
For light everyday desktop use, a kiosk, or an embedded task, silence and footprint may matter more than peak or sustained speed. For long processor-heavy workloads, compare systems with realistic cooling and power settings, and consider whether a warm case is acceptable where the PC will be mounted or handled.

MeLE’s current product-family page lists N100 and N150 options, memory types including DDR4, LPDDR4X, and LPDDR5 depending on configuration, eMMC or SSD storage, and operating systems including Windows 11 Pro, Windows IoT, Ubuntu, Debian, and Linux. It also lists Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, one 1GbE RJ-45 port, and HDMI/USB-C display output. The page does not establish that every combination is sold in every region; verify the exact SKU and seller listing.

In the period covered by the 2024 review, MeLE offered N100 configurations with 8GB or 16GB of memory and 128GB or 256GB of eMMC. These are historical options, not a statement of current inventory. The review unit’s extra NVMe drive was separate from its 256GB eMMC.
- Prioritize included capacity: choose the RAM and eMMC or SSD capacity you will need, because the reviewed design does not allow RAM or eMMC upgrades.
- Check the operating system: confirm whether the exact listing includes Windows or is sold without an OS; the review’s Linux installation was performed on its added NVMe drive.
- Match the processor generation: N100 test results and setup details are not N150 results. Compare the precise CPU and memory configuration rather than relying on the Quieter 4C name alone.
- Compare like with like: account for storage capacity, included OS, and whether an SSD is bundled when assessing a listing’s price.
Is it worth buying?
The Quieter 4C’s strongest case is straightforward: it fits almost anywhere, runs without fan noise, and provides more ports than its size suggests. Its limitations are just as important: fixed RAM and eMMC capacity, modest N100 performance under the tested default power limits, and a case that can become much hotter when those limits are increased.
For historical context only, Liliputing listed April 2024 Amazon offers of $180 for an 8GB/128GB eMMC model, $190 for 8GB/256GB eMMC, and $220 for 16GB/256GB eMMC plus 256GB NVMe; those listings included on-page coupons. CNX Software reported a $139.99 offer after a $20 discount code for an OS-free 8GB/128GB N100 model on June 11, 2025. Neither set of figures establishes a current price or current availability.
In short, the N100 Quieter 4C is appealing when silence and size are the requirements, not a promise of high sustained performance. Morrison’s review captures the core decision: “The main consideration with the Quieter 4C is the trade-off between keeping the mini PC cool enough to handle without wearing oven gloves, whilst making it powerful enough to do the tasks required.”
BIOS and firmware caution
MeLE’s BIOS page lists separate Quieter 4C firmware versions for N100 and N150 systems, including memory-specific versions. The manufacturer warns that using the wrong BIOS or making an error during an update can have irreversible consequences, recommends professional technicians, and advises against updating unless necessary. Identify the exact CPU, memory configuration, and current BIOS version, then follow MeLE’s instructions; do not treat a BIOS update as a routine way to raise power limits.
