To see missed calls on a Samsung Galaxy, open the Phone app and tap Recents or the call-history tab. For a quick alert, check the missed-call notification in the Notification panel. If you dismissed it, Notification history may let you retrieve it when the feature is available and enabled.
Choose the best way to find a missed call

Check missed calls in the Phone app
- Open the Phone app.
- Tap Recents or the tab your phone uses for call history.
- Review the list for missed calls. Tap an entry to see available details or return the call.
Samsung’s Galaxy S9+ manual documents the path as Phone > RECENTS; current tab names can differ by model and software version. The call list is the most dependable place to verify whether a call was missed, even if no alert or badge is visible. Samsung Galaxy S9+ user manual
Check the missed-call alert
A missed-call status-bar icon indicates that one or more calls were missed. Open the Phone app or the Notification panel to view available details and return a call. Icon design and visibility can vary by model, software version, carrier, and enabled features. Samsung’s Galaxy indicator icon guide
Open Notifications on One UI 7
On One UI 7, swipe down from the top-left area of the screen to open Notifications. Swipe down from the top-right area to open Quick settings. With either panel open, swipe horizontally to switch between them. Older software may show both in one panel after a downward swipe. Samsung’s Galaxy indicator icon guide

Recover an alert you dismissed
- Open Settings.
- Tap Notifications, then Advanced settings.
- Tap Notification history and look for the missed-call alert.
This option is available only on supported devices and may need to be enabled before alerts are recorded. Samsung Gulf notes that unsupported apps may not have notifications stored and alerts older than 24 hours may be missing, depending on the device. If you are not seeing missed-call alerts
Check the call history first
Open Phone > Recents or the current call-history tab to confirm whether a call was missed. A missing status icon, notification, or badge does not mean the call is absent from the call list.

Review Phone notifications and badges
In Settings, review notification permissions and app icon badge controls for the Phone app. Samsung’s notification options can include sound, vibration, pop-up style, and badges; the available controls and labels vary by software version and device. Turn on a pickup reminder
Samsung documents an Alert when phone picked up option at Settings > Advanced features > Motions and gestures. When enabled, the phone can vibrate when you pick it up after a missed call or message. Check sound and Do not disturb
Review the Phone app’s notification sound and vibration settings, along with Do not disturb exceptions, if alerts are too quiet or do not appear as expected. These controls affect how notifications are presented; they do not change where missed calls appear in call history. Samsung: Manage Galaxy notifications and permissions
