What KB5054148 and build 26200.5510 are
Microsoft announced Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26200.5510 (KB5054148) for the Dev Channel on March 24, 2025. The 26200-series Dev builds were based on Windows 11 version 24H2 and delivered through an enablement package. Microsoft said this release carried the same features and improvements as the previously released Build 26120.3576. Microsoft’s announcement is the primary release note.
This is a historical preview announcement, not confirmation that Build 26200.5510 is current or that every issue reported at launch is still open. The known-issues list below reflects Microsoft’s statements on March 24, 2025.
Important Recall warning for Copilot+ PC upgraders
Microsoft warned that moving a Copilot+ PC from Build 26120.3576 to 26200.5510 would delete Recall snapshots and reset Recall settings. Anyone considering that specific upgrade should account for the loss of those snapshots and settings. The warning is tied to that build transition; it does not establish what happens with other upgrades.

Known issues Microsoft listed on March 24, 2025
The following items were reported in the release announcement. Their later resolution status is not established here.
- Build number after a reset: After resetting a PC through Settings > System > Recovery, Windows could incorrectly display build 26100 instead of 26200. Microsoft said this would not prevent future Dev updates.
- Windows Update toggle: The option to get the latest updates as soon as they are available could display incorrectly and turn itself off. Microsoft described this as a visual issue.
- Recall saving and settings: Some users could have trouble saving snapshots or changing Recall settings. Automatic snapshot saving might not work, or the setting might fail to turn on.
- Recall feature binaries: Recall binaries were being cached while Microsoft tested enabling and disabling the feature through Turn Windows features on or off. Microsoft said it planned to remove those binaries in a future update.
- Click to Do: Its Phi Silica-powered intelligent text actions could sometimes provide additional context. Microsoft also advised updating Photos and Paint through Microsoft Store if image-entity actions were missing.
- Windows Search indexing on Copilot+ PCs: Microsoft recommended plugging in the PC so initial indexing could finish. Users could check indexing status at Settings > Privacy & security > Searching Windows.
- File Explorer: Closing File Explorer with the X button could be slow and affect other title-bar buttons; File Explorer Home could crash for some Insiders. As a workaround for navigating folders, Microsoft suggested opening another folder through Search or Run.
- Taskbar in tablet posture: Taskbar icons might not grow in size as expected.
- Task Manager CPU Utility: The new CPU Utility column could show System Idle Process as 0. CPU graphs on the Performance page still used the older CPU utility calculations.
How the Dev Channel rollout worked
Microsoft described features in these builds as controlled rollouts: they could start with a subset of Insiders and expand as the company reviewed feedback. Enabling the Windows Update option for receiving the latest updates sooner could make new features arrive earlier, but it did not bypass the gradual rollout.

Dev and Beta were parallel development paths, and Microsoft noted that features could appear in Beta first. Dev builds could also receive behind-the-scenes platform changes, meaning their known issues could differ from those in the corresponding Beta series. Microsoft cautioned that preview features could change, be removed, or never ship outside the Windows Insider program. Insiders could report problems through Feedback Hub.
