Neither chip is a universal performance winner. The Dimensity 9300+ has an edge in several reported CPU benchmark comparisons, while Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 phones have led in some GPU and ray-tracing tests. For gaming over long sessions, cooling and performance settings in the specific phone can matter as much as the processor. The fairest choice depends on the actual handsets you are considering—not just their chip names.
How the processors differ
The Dimensity 9300+ uses an all-large-core CPU arrangement: MediaTek specifies one Arm Cortex-X4 core up to 3.4 GHz, three Cortex-X4 cores up to 2.85 GHz, and four Cortex-A720 cores up to 2.0 GHz. MediaTek also lists 18 MB of L3 plus system-level cache, LPDDR5T memory support up to 9600 Mbps, UFS 4.0 with MCQ, and TSMC 4 nm production. Its official page describes a second-generation thermal-optimized package design; that vendor description is not a guarantee of any phone’s sustained performance. MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300+ specifications
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 configuration shown in Gizmochina’s comparison has one Cortex-X4, five Cortex-A720, and two Cortex-A520 cores. Qualcomm’s product search result notes that the chip is available in more than one CPU configuration and frequency, so do not assume every Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 phone uses an identical clock setup. Gizmochina’s June 4, 2024 comparison and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 product page
In broad terms, the 9300+ devotes more of its CPU to high-performance cores, while the listed Snapdragon configuration includes two efficiency-oriented Cortex-A520 cores. Core counts alone do not establish which phone will feel faster: power limits, cooling, software, and workload all affect real performance.

CPU benchmark results: the 9300+ often leads, but scores vary
Two published comparison sets show the Dimensity 9300+ ahead in Geekbench 6 multicore, but they are not controlled tests of the chips in otherwise identical phones.
| Benchmark and source | Dimensity 9300+ | Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 | What the result represents |
|---|---|---|---|
| Geekbench 6, Gizmochina comparison published June 4, 2024 | 2,313 single-core; 7,743 multicore | 2,164 single-core; 6,756 multicore | Results reported in that comparison, not guaranteed chip scores. Source |
| AnTuTu V10, Gizmochina comparison published June 4, 2024 | 2,305,267 total | 2,112,748 total | Results reported in that comparison; AnTuTu totals should be compared within the same version and testing context. Source |
| AnTuTu 11, NanoReview’s live aggregate | 2,348,248 total from 94 samples | 2,345,563 total from 443 samples | Changing database averages with unequal sample counts, not a same-device test. Source |
| Geekbench 6, NanoReview’s live aggregate | 2,249 single-core; 7,352 multicore | 2,203 single-core; 6,511 multicore | Changing aggregate results, not a controlled comparison. Source |
The direction is consistent across these listed CPU results: the Dimensity 9300+ scores higher, especially in multicore. The exact margins differ by source and sample. The AnTuTu 11 totals, for example, are nearly tied, unlike the older AnTuTu V10 comparison. Benchmark version, phone model, software, and sample size explain why a single score should not be treated as a fixed property of every phone with that chip.

Gaming and graphics: Snapdragon leads in some handset tests
Android Authority compared a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 REDMAGIC 9 Pro with a Dimensity 9300 vivo X100 Pro. The Snapdragon phone scored about 26% higher in a one-off 3DMark Wild Life test and about 21% higher in Solar Bay, which tests ray tracing. These are results from two different handsets, and the MediaTek phone used the earlier Dimensity 9300—not the 9300+. They indicate that Snapdragon performed better in those tested GPU workloads, but they do not establish a universal 9300+ versus Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 GPU ranking. Android Authority’s handset comparison and stress tests
For a gaming decision, peak graphics performance is only part of the picture. A phone’s cooling system and performance mode can change how well it sustains performance after heat builds up. In Android Authority’s demanding sustained Wild Life test, the vivo X100 Pro with Dimensity 9300 ended at 44% stability. REDMAGIC’s results changed when its active cooling fan was disabled. That test is more demanding than ordinary gaming, and neither observation should be generalized to all phones using those chips.

What to compare before buying a phone
- For CPU-heavy apps: Prefer same-version, same-workload tests on the exact phones. The published comparisons favor the Dimensity 9300+ in multicore results, but do not guarantee a faster experience in every app.
- For gaming: Look for sustained tests and frame-rate results from the exact handset and the games you play. Check whether the tested performance mode or active cooling is enabled.
- For long workloads: Consider the phone’s cooling design and behavior over time, rather than relying only on a short benchmark run.
- For camera and video features: Check the manufacturer’s specifications for the exact model and regional variant. Platform-level capabilities do not ensure a phone exposes every feature.
- For day-to-day ownership: Include battery behavior, software support, game and driver compatibility, and regional availability in the decision. The comparisons here do not establish a general winner on those factors.
Geekbench’s device leaderboard includes multiple phones and tablets built around these processor families, including Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Galaxy S24 models and Dimensity 9300+ Galaxy Tab S10 models. Those devices have different designs and implementations, so leaderboard entries are useful for finding device-level results—not for isolating silicon performance. Media and camera specifications are not guaranteed phone features
Gizmochina lists platform-level maximums of 320 MP and 4K/60 video capture for the Dimensity 9300+, versus 200 MP and 4K/120 for Snapdragon 8 Gen 3; both are listed for 8K/30. These figures describe capabilities in the comparison, not a promise that any particular phone supports those capture modes. Manufacturers choose sensors, camera pipelines, and enabled recording options, so verify the exact handset’s camera specifications before buying. Gizmochina’s comparison table

Verdict: choose by handset and workload
The Dimensity 9300+ is the stronger bet from the listed CPU benchmark results, particularly for multicore workloads. Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 has a demonstrated advantage in specific GPU and ray-tracing tests, but those tests compare different devices and an earlier Dimensity chip. For gaming and sustained performance, the cooling and tuning of the actual phone can outweigh a headline chip comparison. If two candidate phones are available, prioritize comparable testing of those exact models and the workloads you care about.
