Choose the Bambu Lab H2D if you will use its dual-nozzle workflow, larger total work envelope, or optional laser and cutting tools. Choose the Prusa CORE One+ (Gen 2) if you prefer a compact enclosed CoreXY printer with documented offline printing, published firmware and CAD, and a repair-focused upgrade path. They are not equivalent configurations, and the specifications available do not establish a universal winner for speed, print quality, reliability, or material waste. Prusa’s current product page lists the CORE One+ (Gen 2), the current generation of the CORE One platform named in this comparison.

How the H2D and CORE One+ differ

The H2D is a dual-nozzle machine with optional fabrication modules in relevant configurations. The CORE One+ (Gen 2) is a single-head enclosed CoreXY printer; Prusa’s current page also presents an optional INDX conversion kit. That distinction matters more than a simple spec-sheet ranking: the H2D is aimed at buyers who need its broader set of workflows, while the Prusa is aimed at buyers who prioritize its documented offline and repair characteristics.

Feature Bambu Lab H2D Prusa CORE One+ (Gen 2)
Printer setup Dual nozzle; launch materials also describe laser engraving/cutting and digital cutting/pen plotting in relevant Laser Edition configurations. Bambu Lab launch announcement, March 25, 2025. One printer head in the standard configuration; optional INDX conversion kit shown on Prusa’s current product page. Prusa product page, accessed 2026.
Build volume 325 × 320 × 325 mm³ single-nozzle; 300 × 320 × 325 mm³ dual-nozzle; 350 × 320 × 325 mm³ total two-nozzle volume. Bambu Lab product specification. 250 × 220 × 270 mm. Prusa product page, accessed 2026.
Published temperature limits 350°C nozzle and 65°C active chamber, per Bambu’s launch announcement. Bambu Lab, March 25, 2025. Up to 55°C chamber; 290°C standard nozzle or 400°C with the HT upgrade. Prusa product page, accessed 2026.
Offline and open-workflow documentation Not established by the official material cited here. Prusa says USB or local-network printing does not require internet; firmware source and CAD files are published. Prusa product page, accessed 2026.
Prices found $1,899 for H2D and $2,199 for H2D AMS Combo were US launch MSRPs announced March 25, 2025, not verified October 2026 checkout prices. Bambu Lab launch announcement. Prusa’s page displays €1,349 assembled and €1,049 kit, and a comparison table lists assembled from $1,299. These are page-listed regional values, not a like-for-like total with accessories, tax, or shipping. Prusa product page, accessed 2026.

Build volume: compare the H2D by nozzle mode

Bambu’s headline H2D figure of 350 × 320 × 325 mm³ is the total two-nozzle volume, not the single-nozzle printable volume. The specification document gives 325 × 320 × 325 mm³ for single-nozzle printing and 300 × 320 × 325 mm³ for dual-nozzle printing. The Prusa CORE One+ (Gen 2) is listed at 250 × 220 × 270 mm.

For a one-material part, compare the H2D’s single-nozzle dimensions with Prusa’s stated volume. For a dual-nozzle job, use the H2D dual-nozzle dimensions; the 350 mm width is not a single-nozzle envelope. Check the dimensions of the actual part and its orientation, rather than assuming the largest quoted number is available in every mode.

Dual-nozzle printing and material changes

When the H2D’s second nozzle helps

A second nozzle can suit jobs that switch between materials or use a separate support material, and Bambu presents the H2D as a dual-nozzle printer. The second nozzle changes the available envelope, so a dual-nozzle job has the stated 300 × 320 × 325 mm³ volume rather than the single-nozzle 325 × 320 × 325 mm³. Bambu’s official hotend listing says the H2D dual-nozzle function supports nozzles of the same type and size; verify current accessory compatibility before choosing nozzle parts. Bambu Lab H2D hotend listing.

When a single head is enough

If most jobs use one material and do not benefit from a second nozzle, the CORE One+’s standard single-head setup may be the more relevant comparison. Prusa lists an INDX conversion kit as an option, but that is an upgrade path, not the standard printer configuration. Consider the cost and workflow of any required conversion when comparing bundles.

Engineering materials: what the temperature figures do and do not tell you

The published ceilings favor different needs: Bambu lists a 350°C nozzle and 65°C active chamber for the H2D; Prusa lists up to 55°C chamber temperature and 290°C standard nozzle temperature for the CORE One+ (Gen 2), or 400°C with the HT upgrade. These are manufacturer specifications, not proof that either printer will successfully print every filament within a nominal temperature range. Material choice also depends on the filament’s requirements, the nozzle and other compatible components, and the full print setup.

For abrasive carbon- or glass-fiber-filled filaments, Bambu’s high-flow hotend page recommends hardened-steel 0.6 mm nozzles to reduce abrasion and clogging risk. Check the current accessory guidance for the exact H2D configuration before buying a hotend or nozzle. Bambu Lab H2D high-flow hotend listing. Prusa specifies standard 1.75 mm filament and describes broad material support on its product page; confirm that a particular material is appropriate for the selected nozzle and operating setup. Offline use, openness, and repair

Prusa’s CORE One+ page says the printer can print from USB or a local network without an internet connection, and states: “You don’t have to connect the printer to the internet; not even once.” The same page identifies Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and USB connectivity, and says firmware source and CAD files are published. These are Prusa’s published product claims.

Prusa also describes the enclosure as structural, says parts can be disassembled with a screwdriver, and states it stocks replacement parts for years. The page lists optional camera and filtration products as well as the INDX conversion kit. These details may matter if you expect to service or modify the printer over time. The cited H2D material does not establish an equivalent offline, openness, or repairability comparison, so it does not support declaring either machine a verified security winner.

Price: compare the machine you will actually receive

Price depends on region and configuration. Bambu’s March 25, 2025 US launch announcement listed $1,899 for the H2D and $2,199 for the H2D AMS Combo. Those are launch-era MSRPs, not current checkout prices. The AMS bundle is a different configuration, and Bambu’s announcement also listed higher prices for laser bundles. Bambu Lab launch announcement.

Prusa’s product page, accessed in 2026, displays €1,349 assembled and €1,049 as a kit, while its comparison table lists an assembled starting figure of $1,299. These are different regional price displays and configurations; do not directly compare one with Bambu’s historical US launch price. Check the live regional checkout total for tax, shipping, assembly, and any included accessories.

Prusa’s page also gives indicative running-cost examples of approximately $25/kg for PLA, approximately $20 for a nozzle replacement, and approximately $37 for a replacement print sheet. These are manufacturer-published examples, not an independent price survey; local prices and current availability may differ. Prusa product page.

Which printer should you buy?

Choose the Bambu Lab H2D if

  • You have regular jobs that can use two nozzles, and the H2D’s dual-nozzle dimensions fit your parts.
  • You need its larger total two-nozzle work envelope or higher published active-chamber and nozzle limits for your intended workflow.
  • You expect to use optional laser engraving/cutting or digital cutting and plotting modules, and have verified the relevant configuration and bundle price.

Choose the Prusa CORE One+ (Gen 2) if

  • You want an enclosed CoreXY printer with the smaller 250 × 220 × 270 mm build volume.
  • Printing by USB or local network without internet, and access to published firmware source and CAD, are priorities.
  • You value Prusa’s stated repair approach and parts support, or want the option to consider the INDX conversion kit later.

What the published specifications cannot decide

The cited official material does not provide a same-model, same-material independent comparison of print speed, quality, reliability, or waste. Bambu’s launch announcement includes performance claims, but they are vendor statements rather than a like-for-like independent test. Make those factors a decision based on current independent testing for the materials and models you use, not on the specifications above.
