You can’t download the PlayStation App for Windows 10: Sony says the app is for supported iOS and Android devices, not PCs. If you want to stream or control a PS4 or PS5 from your Windows computer, download Sony’s separate PS Remote Play app instead.
Which PlayStation app do you need?
The right option depends on what you want to do. The PlayStation App is the mobile app for tasks such as chatting, browsing PlayStation news and managing supported console downloads. Sony’s US page lists iOS 14.0 or later and Android 8.0 or later; some features require a PS4 or PS5 and an internet connection, and available content can vary by region. Download it from the official App Store or Google Play listing on a supported mobile device.
For streaming or controlling a console from Windows, use PS Remote Play. It is separate software, not a Windows version of the PlayStation App, and requires a PS4 or PS5.

How to download PS Remote Play on Windows 10
Sony’s support guide lists Windows 10 (64-bit) and Windows 11 for PS Remote Play. These are Sony’s published requirements, not a guarantee of performance on every PC.

- Open Sony’s Remote Play PC and Mac support guide and download the Windows app from that page.
- Run the downloaded installation file and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Update your PS5 or PS4 to the latest system software, then enable Remote Play on the console using the steps below.
- Connect a supported controller to the PC with a USB cable. Sony lists DualSense, DualSense Edge and DUALSHOCK 4 controllers.
- Open PS Remote Play, select Sign In, and sign in with the same PlayStation account used on the console.
- Choose PS5 or PS4 when prompted, then follow the app’s connection prompts.
Enable Remote Play on your console
PS5
On the console, go to Settings > System > Remote Play, then turn on Enable Remote Play.
PS4
Go to Settings > Remote Play Connection Settings and turn on Enable Remote Play. Sony also requires the PS4 to be activated as the primary console for the account.

Pair manually if the console isn’t found
Make sure the PC and console are on the same network. On PS5, select Pair Device; on PS4, select Add Device. Enter the number shown on the console in the PC app.
Connect from Rest Mode or outside your home
To start Remote Play while the console is in Rest Mode, enable the console settings that keep it connected to the internet and allow it to be turned on from the network. Sony provides the console-specific settings in its Remote Play guide.

- PS Remote Play requires Remote Play App connected to Wi-Fi, PS4 or PS5 console with the latest system software and compatible game. A PS4 or PS5 console with a wired connection via a LAN cable is recommended. Version 4.0 of the Remote Play App on iOS and iPadOS or version 4.1 on macOS is required for games to be playable with the controller over Bluetooth.
First test the connection on the same network as the console. Sony notes that a PC or Mac may not find a console if you have not signed in for some time. Connecting from outside your home depends on the console, PC and network being configured and reachable; it is not guaranteed just by installing the app.
Network and controller requirements
Sony recommends upload and download speeds of at least 5 Mbps as a standard and at least 15 Mbps in both directions for best performance. These are recommendations, not guarantees of a particular image quality or connection stability. A faster, stable network can help, but actual results depend on the connection and setup.

The Windows setup calls for a USB port, and Sony’s documented controller connection is by USB cable. A microphone is needed for voice chat; the PC’s built-in microphone can be used.

No. Sony’s PlayStation App FAQ says, “No, there is no PlayStation App for PC.” PS Remote Play is the official Windows option when your goal is to stream or control a PS4 or PS5, rather than use the mobile app on a computer.
