First identify where the Spanish appears: Xfinity menu and guide language is separate from a program’s spoken audio. On an X1 box, change menus under Settings > Language > Menu Language and choose English. If only a show’s audio is Spanish, change its available audio track or reset the SAP preference instead.
Choose the fix that matches what you see or hear
| What is in Spanish? | Where to change it |
|---|---|
| X1 menus or guide | Settings > Language > Menu Language |
| Older, non-X1 guide | Menú Principal > Configuración > más selecciones > Idioma del Texto |
| Program audio | The program’s audio options, SAP setting, or saved audio-language preference |
| Xfinity Stream or Flex | Use the platform-specific language or accessibility controls below |
Change the X1 menu language to English
With the interface in Spanish, press the Xfinity button, select the gear icon, open Idioma, and choose Idioma del menú. Select Inglés (EE. UU.) or Inglés (Canada), then confirm. In English, the equivalent path is Settings > Language > Menu Language.
You can also say “English Menu” into the Voice Remote and select and confirm English, or type English on the remote keypad to open Language Settings. The menu-language setting changes navigational content, including the main menu, guide, recording options, settings, and search; it does not change a program’s spoken audio. See Xfinity’s X1 language instructions.
Change the language on a legacy TV guide
If your box has the older guide and its controls are in Spanish, use this path:

- The batteries are included in the pack.
- Press Menu, then select Menú Principal.
- Choose Configuración, scroll to más selecciones, and select Idioma del Texto.
- Select Inglés (U.S.) and confirm the text-language change.
- Press Menu again to check that the guide text has changed.
This changes menu and guide text, not show audio. Xfinity says legacy TV listings and program descriptions remain in English even when language settings change. See Xfinity’s legacy-guide instructions and its note on listings and descriptions.
Fix Spanish audio on an X1 box
If the menus are already in English but a show sounds Spanish, the issue is likely the selected audio track or SAP—not the menu-language setting. SAP is an alternate soundtrack supplied by the content provider, and a program may not offer one.

- Open the program’s audio options and select the preferred language from the tracks actually listed.
- If the box keeps selecting an unwanted language, look for Audio Language (SAP) Reset under Device Settings and the Audio, Language, or Accessibility settings. The exact location can vary.
- After resetting, check the program again; the reset clears the saved audio-language preference so the box can return to its default.

Change audio language in Xfinity Stream
On the web
While watching, use the player’s SAP control and choose an available language. The player’s preference applies beyond the current program. You can also open Settings > Language in the portal to select a preferred SAP language. Alternate tracks depend on the content provider and are not offered for every program. See Xfinity’s Stream web instructions.

On Android
Open the profile menu and go to Settings > Accessibility. Enable SAP and choose a preferred language. To change only the current program, open playback controls, select Audio Options, and choose a listed language; that playback choice applies only to that program. If only one language is listed, SAP is unavailable for it. See Xfinity’s Android instructions.
On Apple devices
Open your profile, choose Accessibility, switch on SAP, and select a preferred language. An alternate soundtrack is not available for every program. See Xfinity’s Apple-device instructions.

Check the language setting on Xfinity Flex
For most Flex menus and notifications, open the Language setting and choose English. If only the program’s audio is Spanish, reset the secondary audio track in Accessibility or Language and Audio settings. See Xfinity’s Flex language guidance.
If Spanish audio continues
Check the whole audio path, not only the Xfinity box. A TV, receiver, or other connected device may be set to SAP or another audio track.
