The Hisense E7K Pro is a 2023 QLED 4K TV whose strongest case is gaming: Hisense specifies a 120Hz native panel and VRR up to 144Hz, while its 55-inch regional product record lists HDMI 2.1 and game-mode input lag of no more than 13ms. The trade-off is modest HDR hardware: Hisense Spain lists 350 nits typical brightness and no local dimming. It is better understood as a gaming-feature-rich mid-range set than a high-impact HDR television.

What the E7K Pro is—and why the exact model matters

The E7K Pro is a 2023 Hisense QLED 4K television family. Hisense Spain’s series sheet covers 55E7K PRO, 65E7K PRO and 75E7K PRO models. A separate official regional record is for the 55E78KQ PRO and identifies it as part of the E7K PRO series. Those suffixes are not interchangeable proof of identical specifications: ports, tuners, panel details and available apps can vary by market. Check the full model code and local product record or manual before buying.

The published evidence supports a clear profile: high-refresh gaming features, several major HDR formats and a VIDAA smart platform, paired with brightness and local-dimming limits that constrain HDR impact. Current pricing and availability are not established here.

Gaming is the E7K Pro’s main strength

Hisense Spain lists a 120Hz native refresh rate and VRR up to 144Hz for the 55-, 65- and 75-inch series models in its 2023 E7K Pro specification sheet. For the regional 55E78KQ PRO, Hisense’s official product record lists HDMI 2.1, VRR up to 144Hz on two inputs, ALLM and game-mode input lag of ≤13ms.

What Hi-Fi?’s review of its 55-inch E7K Pro describes two 48Gbps HDMI 2.1 inputs. The reviewer measured 13.2ms input lag at 1080p in Game mode and reported that lag falls by more than half with 120Hz sources. That is a review measurement for its tested unit and conditions, distinct from Hisense’s ≤13ms specification; neither figure should be treated as a measurement for every regional variant or signal configuration.

For a console or PC gamer comparing candidates, check more than the VRR ceiling. Confirm which inputs support the advertised high-bandwidth features on the exact regional model, and compare input-lag measurements made at the same resolution and refresh rate. The available figures establish gaming appeal, but do not by themselves establish superiority over another TV.

HDR support is broader than HDR performance

The E7K Pro is a 4K Quantum Dot Colour TV, and Hisense’s 55E78KQ PRO record lists Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10+ Adaptive and HDR10. Format support means the TV can accept those HDR formats; it does not guarantee high peak brightness, strong contrast or a dramatic HDR image.

Hisense Spain lists 350 nits typical brightness for the three sizes in its 2023 series sheet. The same sheet marks local dimming and local-dimming zones as absent, and does not state a peak-brightness figure. Without local dimming, the set lacks that method of controlling brightness in separate screen areas; the specified typical brightness also gives less headroom for bright highlights than a high-brightness HDR set. These specifications make bright-room HDR impact and deep, controlled blacks a concern for buyers who prioritize them.

What the independent picture review found

What Hi-Fi?’s review of the 55-inch E7K Pro describes visible compromises that qualify its value for film and HDR viewing. These are observations from that reviewed unit and are not universal panel measurements.

Picture presets and motion

The reviewer found the Dynamic preset brighter and more vivid, but noted oversaturated greens, overly smooth motion with 24p material and clipping of bright HDR detail. A more vivid preset therefore was not a straightforward improvement in accuracy or detail retention.

Dolby Vision IQ and dark scenes

What Hi-Fi? criticized Dolby Vision IQ/Bright for visible noise in dark scenes, a grey-green cast and weak black levels. Those observations matter most to viewers sensitive to dark-scene presentation or looking for a carefully balanced film image. They are review findings, rather than a claim that every E7K Pro in every mode will look the same.

Read the 55-inch What Hi-Fi? review as an assessment of that model and tested unit, not a substitute for checking the regional version you intend to buy.

Smart TV, sound and connections

The official 55E78KQ PRO record lists Hisense’s VIDAA platform and apps including Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video, Disney+ and Apple TV+. Availability can depend on the market and may not match another region’s app catalogue. Check local app support if a particular service is essential.

Hisense lists a 2 × 10W + 20W speaker configuration and Dolby Atmos decoding for the 55E78KQ PRO. Its record identifies HDMI 3 as the eARC connection and gives VESA 300 × 200 mounting compatibility. The set can therefore pass audio through eARC to compatible equipment, but Dolby Atmos decoding and the listed speaker configuration do not establish how an external sound system will perform; no soundbar or receiver comparison is available here.

Who should consider the Hisense E7K Pro?

A reasonable fit

  • Price-sensitive console or PC gamers who value high refresh, VRR and HDMI 2.1 features, after confirming the exact regional model and input allocation.
  • Viewers who watch in a room where moderate brightness is acceptable and who place gaming features ahead of standout HDR brightness or black-level performance.

Look more closely at alternatives if

  • Bright-room HDR impact is a priority: the official series sheet lists 350 nits typical brightness and no local dimming.
  • You are especially sensitive to black levels, dark-scene noise or film-motion handling: What Hi-Fi?’s 55-inch review identifies weaknesses in these areas.
  • You need certainty about a particular port, tuner, panel characteristic or app: the cited records concern specific regional models, not every TV sold under an E7K Pro name.

What to check before buying

  1. Match the complete model code. Confirm the size and suffix on the retailer listing, then compare it with the product record or manual for your country.
  2. Verify gaming inputs. Check the number and allocation of HDMI 2.1 inputs and which support VRR and the refresh rate you intend to use.
  3. Compare like-for-like lag figures. An input-lag number is meaningful only alongside its resolution, refresh rate and test context.
  4. Judge HDR against your room and viewing habits. Consider the listed typical brightness and lack of local dimming alongside the review’s picture observations.
  5. Confirm local services and connectivity. Check app availability, eARC port placement and mounting requirements in the exact regional documentation.
  6. Compare current local terms yourself. The cited sources do not establish current prices, stock, retailer terms or warranty conditions.
