Apple opened iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro pre-orders on Friday, September 13, 2024, at 5 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time (PDT). That was 1 p.m. British Summer Time (BST) and 2 p.m. in France, according to Apple. The pre-order window is a past launch event, not a current offer.

Apple directly reported the PDT opening time and the local times for the UK and France. The other North American, Indian, and Japanese times below are calculated conversions from 5 a.m. PDT on September 13, 2024, using the UTC offsets in effect that day.

Which countries and regions were included?
Apple said pre-orders began September 13 in more than 58 countries and regions. Its examples included Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, South Korea, Türkiye, the UAE, the UK, and the US. Apple’s announcement, as cited here, does not give a complete list, so these examples should not be treated as exhaustive.

Pre-order date and availability date were different
The pre-order window opened September 13, 2024. Apple said initial availability would begin September 20, 2024. It also announced a later September 27 start for iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus in Macao, Vietnam, and 19 other countries and regions. The September 27 date was an availability start, not the general pre-order opening date.
These dates describe Apple’s 2024 launch schedule. Current retailer stock, prices, and availability are separate and are not established by those launch announcements.
