If Supermarket Simulator crashes on a Windows PC, start with the low-risk checks: confirm your PC meets the Steam requirements, restart Windows and Steam, update the game, and verify its files. The right next step depends on whether only the game closes or Windows itself freezes or restarts; no single fix is established for every crash.
First, identify what is crashing
Note what happens and when, including any exact error message. Does the game close to the desktop, hang while launching, or does the entire PC freeze, restart, or power off? A game crash and a system-level failure are different symptoms and should not be treated as the same problem.
- Game closes or hangs: begin with the game and Steam checks below.
- Windows freezes, restarts, or powers off: record the time and any displayed error. Check Windows Reliability Monitor or Event Viewer for an entry at that time. These tools may help identify a system error; they do not by themselves prove the game caused it. If the PC repeatedly powers off, seek qualified PC support.
Check the PC against the game’s requirements
Steam lists these Windows requirements for Supermarket Simulator. The listing specifies Windows 10 (64-bit); it does not separately state Windows 11 certification. Check the Steam listing for the current details.

These are the listed requirements, not a diagnosis of a particular crash. If your PC falls below the minimum, that may explain trouble running the game, but the listing does not establish that a component upgrade will fix a specific fault.

Try the low-risk fixes first
- Restart Windows and Steam. Close Steam, restart the PC, reopen Steam, and launch the game again.
- Install available updates. Check Steam for a game update and Windows Update for available Windows updates.
- Temporarily close overlays and background apps. If the crash began while using an overlay or another background application, close it and test the game. Change one thing at a time so you can tell whether it made a difference.
- Verify the installed game files in Steam. Open Library, right-click Supermarket Simulator, choose Properties, open Installed Files, then select Verify integrity of game files. Let Steam finish and try launching the game again.
- Undo recent changes one at a time. If the issue started after changing a mod, graphics setting, overlay, or system tuning setting, revert that change and test again before changing anything else.
Test display settings without treating them as a guaranteed fix
One player reported that enabling V-Sync and limiting the game to 60 FPS stopped their crashes. That is an individual report, not an official or generally confirmed fix. If you can reach the game’s settings, try those options as a reversible test, then restore the original settings if they do not help. A separate report mentioned lowering resolution, but the available reports do not establish that either change works consistently.
Protect your save before any save-file troubleshooting
A forum user reported that deleting a save helped in their particular case, but deleting it can erase progress. Do not start by removing the save. Back it up first, and try the less destructive checks above before considering any save-file change.

The user-submitted thread gave this save path: C:UsersUsernameAppDataLocalLowNokta GamesSupermarket SimulatorSaveFile.es3. Replace Username with the relevant Windows account name, and confirm the file’s location before touching it; user-folder locations and game versions can vary. The path and deletion suggestion are community guidance, not an official procedure. Read the Steam community discussions for context, but treat individual experiences as leads rather than proven fixes.
Do not disable security protection as a default fix
A community user attributed their own problem to firewall blocking, but that report does not establish that a firewall commonly causes these crashes or that disabling protection is safe or necessary. Do not turn off antivirus or firewall protection as a routine troubleshooting step. If you are specifically investigating a network-permission issue, limit any exception to the game and restore the previous setting if it does not help.

Contact the game’s official support if it still crashes
Steam identifies Nokta Games as the developer and publisher and lists supermarketsimulator@noktagames.com as its support email. Include details that can help narrow down the issue:
- Your Windows version and PC specifications
- The game version, if available
- The exact error message, or a description of what happens
- When the crash occurs, such as on launch or during play
- Which troubleshooting steps you tried and what changed
The official listing provides system requirements and a support route, but does not publish a crash-specific fix. Community suggestions—including compatibility mode—have mixed reported results and are not official recommendations.
