The event has now passed; this guide summarizes its schedule, scale and practical details rather than offering current instructions for a future CES.
What CES 2026 was—and how large it was
CES is owned and produced by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA). CTA described the 2026 event as spanning areas including AI, robotics, digital health, mobility, enterprise, energy, immersive entertainment and accessibility. In its opening announcement, CTA reported more than 4,100 exhibitors across 13 Las Vegas venues and more than 2.6 million net square feet of exhibit space. CTA’s opening release quoted its Executive Chair and CEO Gary Shapiro: “CES 2026 is where innovators show up – to connect, forge partnerships, and do business on a global scale.”
In its post-event summary, CTA reported more than 148,000 attendees, including about 6,900 media. These are CTA’s reported figures; the cited materials do not provide independent attendance verification. CTA’s post-event release provides that closing context.
When the show took place and who could attend
Media Days were held January 4–5 at Mandalay Bay. CTA said access was limited to registered CES media, industry analysts and content creators—not general public show-floor access. The schedule included press conferences, CTA’s Tech Trends to Watch presentation and CES Unveiled Las Vegas. The show floor opened January 6 at 10 a.m. Pacific time, according to CTA’s Media Days announcement.

CES’s official 2026 dates and hours page listed exhibit-floor hours as follows:

Those were the historical exhibit hours for 2026. Other event areas had different hours, so they should not be used as a schedule for a later CES.

Venues, transportation and attendee tools
The event spread across multiple venues, so travel time and the day’s schedule mattered as much as the floor hours. CTA’s 2026 transportation guide described complimentary shuttles between select official hotels and the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) and Venetian Expo. It also noted Las Vegas Monorail connections serving LVCC, Westgate and several Strip hotels. Routes and operating dates were specific to that event; check the current year’s transportation information before relying on any route.
CES said its 2026 app included an AI chatbot, transportation updates, translations for selected sessions and Attendee Connect, a secure QR-code feature for sharing contact information. The features made the app relevant for navigating and networking, but the QR option was a contact-sharing tool, not a requirement to attend. CES’s app page described the 2026 features.

What attendees were told to bring and do
The official 2026 badge-pickup document instructed attendees to collect their own badge and bring both their registration confirmation and a government-issued photo ID. It also listed remote airport and hotel pickup locations. These instructions applied to CES 2026; they do not establish the badge process for a future show. - For a future CES, confirm badge pickup, required identification, venue hours and transport routes in that year’s official attendee materials.
- A portable power bank could be a useful personal packing choice for a long day using maps, transport updates or QR networking. CES did not require or endorse one.
