Windows ARM host support is therefore not documented by the requirements reviewed, so you should not assume Workstation will run natively on an ARM-based Windows computer. That conclusion reflects the scope of Broadcom’s documentation, not hands-on testing of every device or release.
What Broadcom documents for the Workstation host
Broadcom says VMware Workstation uses functions in modern 64-bit x86 CPUs and runs on standard x86-based hardware with 64-bit Intel and AMD processors. Its listed host operating systems are 64-bit Windows and Linux, but the hardware requirement is still x86-based; “Windows” in that list does not establish support for Windows running on ARM. See Broadcom’s VMware Workstation system requirements.
The same requirements page gives example minimum hardware details for the described configuration: a compatible 64-bit x86/AMD64 CPU launched in 2011 or later, with AMD-V or Intel VT-x virtualization support. These are requirements for the x86-based system Broadcom describes, not evidence of compatibility with an ARM processor.
Why a virtual machine does not make the CPU architecture irrelevant
Virtualization does not automatically translate one processor architecture into another. Broadcom’s architecture guidance says a guest operating system must be compatible with the host machine architecture; it gives an x86_64 operating system on an ARM machine as an example of an incompatible pairing in the described virtualization context. See Broadcom’s guest and host architecture compatibility guidance.

- The Snapdragon X Elite X1E-78-100 processor is perfect for those with a creative mind and an eye for design. It delivers top-tier performance while cutting power consumption by 68%, letting your creative juices flow all day without any interruptions.
That distinction matters because Windows ARM can run some x86 applications through Windows’ application compatibility features, but that is not evidence that VMware Workstation itself can run as an x86 hypervisor on an ARM host. The cited Workstation requirements do not document such a host configuration.
Windows 11 guest support is a different question
Broadcom has instructions for installing Windows 11 as a guest in VMware Workstation Pro/Player and Fusion. Those instructions specify a “Windows 10 and later x64” guest type and cover guest setup, including TPM and Secure Boot configuration. They describe a guest operating system in supported VMware environments; they do not establish that Workstation can be installed on Windows ARM. See Broadcom’s Windows 11 guest installation instructions.

Do not use Fusion on Apple silicon as proof of Workstation support
VMware Fusion is a separate product, and the cited ARM guest guidance concerns Fusion running on Apple silicon. Broadcom says Fusion 13.0 was the first version to support Apple silicon and that only 64-bit ARM guest operating systems run in Fusion VMs on those hosts; x86 operating systems do not. That Apple platform case does not demonstrate that Workstation runs on a Windows ARM PC. See Broadcom’s Fusion guidance for ARM guest operating systems.

- Laptop sitting too low on your desk: Raise it to eye level on a gas spring arm that adjusts from 9 to 18.75 inches and holds where you leave it. A hex key sets the tension, turning one way for heavier laptops and the other for lighter ones.
- Covered for as long as you own it: Mount-It! backs this laptop arm with a lifetime manufacturer warranty and US-based product specialists, available during standard business hours. If setup, tension, or fit raises a question, a product specialist can help.
- Fits laptops up to 17 inches and 13.2 lbs: Side holders open from 9.5 to 16.5 inches wide, and locking buckles, traction pads, and tabs keep the laptop from slipping. The 11.75 x 11 inch tray is ventilated so warm air escapes beneath. Check your laptop's width and weight first.
- Full motion for every working position: A 360 degree swivel, 90 degree tilt, and reach from 10.5 to 23.5 inches let you pull the screen close, push it back, or angle it toward a video call, then reposition it between sitting and standing.
- Screen up high, keyboard and mouse below: This laptop stand arm is a raised screen, not a typing surface, so pair it with an external keyboard and mouse. It clamps to the desk edge instead of a riser taking up space, and cable clips route cords along it.
What to conclude before choosing a setup
- If you need VMware Workstation as the host application, Broadcom’s published requirements point to a 64-bit x86 Windows or Linux computer.
- If you have a Windows ARM PC, the cited requirements do not document it as a supported Workstation host. Check Broadcom’s current release-specific documentation for any later change rather than treating guest-side compatibility or Fusion guidance as confirmation.
- If your question is about running Windows 11 inside a VM, check the guest instructions separately; guest support does not establish host support.
